Competing against four global startups at Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona, Omniflow won funding, travel, piloting, and business development opportunities in the United States, along with the NTXIA Champion Texas Belt Buckle.
Canada-based Tidal League said its new studio in Frisco represents "a transformative step" in its U.S. expansion. The media company's content includes the popular YouTube talk show "To the Baha," which is hosted by three former Dallas Mavericks.
The city said that Origin—which has been under development since 2020—stemmed from Frisco leaders' vision to create "an open collaboration space for residents to scale their businesses, as well as a networking space for venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, fintech, sportstech, AI, cybersecurity, and other startups."

The global innovation platform is ready to showcase "revolutionary technology" in a splashy two-city, day-long event on March 26. To be held at the McKinney Cotton Mill and at the National Soccer Hall of Fame in Frisco, the day will feature pitches, speakers, and panels on SportsTech, FinTech, and Enterprise & AI.
The global innovation platform opened offices in the two North Texas cities late last year, announcing accelerators for Sportstech and Enterprise & AI. Now Plug and Play is banking on a new way to make Frisco and McKinney key players in another disruptive industry.
“I think DFW represents such a strong market for Plug and Play,” Saadawi told Dallas Innovates. “it’s kind of remarkable that we haven’t been there this whole time.”
Sherif Saadawi, VP of partnerships at Plug and Play, calls his platform "the most active VC in the world by volume of deals"—and that's just one of three pillars it's bringing to Frisco and McKinney, along with corporate-startup matchmaking and sector-focused accelerators.
"In almost every metric that we look for that makes a good ecosystem, DFW really ticks all the boxes," he tells Dallas Innovates.
The Dallas cybersecurity and IoT company intends to use the Series B funding to build out its market coverage and continue to deliver its current products, among other plans.
