Nine months after cutting the ribbon in Fort Worth on its first U.S. factory for assembling EV charging stations, LG has begun taking orders for its first Level 3 DC charger in the U.S. The stand-type charger will be assembled "starting this fall" at the company's Fort Worth EV charging production center.

Hithium Tech USA To Invest $100M in North Texas Battery Module Plant

The subsidiary of China-based Xiamen Hithium Energy Storage Technology Co. specializes in battery energy storage systems. The assembly plant—Hithium's first in North America—will be located at 20 East Trinity Pointe in Mesquite and will bring 141 manufacturing jobs to the city when it goes online in 2029.

Vehicle Accessory Group is moving jobs from California and New York to a new corporate headquarters in Mesquite, where a new facility will create more than 600 manufacturing jobs. Texas Gov. Abbott presented the company with a proclamation last week, saying the move exemplifies the entrepreneurial spirit and thriving business climate of Texas.

Late last month, Sweden-based Ericsson hosted an event at its USA 5G Smart Factory in the Dallas-Fort Worth suburb of Lewisville. The expanded 300,000-square-foot "highly automated" manufacturing plant employees more than 500 people is "at the forefront of building the next generation of 5G infrastructure in the United States," the company says. To support its mission, Ericsson announced an additional investment of $50 million in the plant on top of an initial $100 million announced in 2020.
