Michaels, the Irving-based arts and crafts retailer, is hosting an in-store MakerPlace event on June 15 at several locations in North Texas.
The pilot program lets customers discover local handmade artists and shop some of the goods available on Michaels’ online marketplace, which offers “truly handmade goods, classes, and how-to’s.” The initiative is a step forward from the retailer’s efforts to compete with platforms like Etsy, which we reported on earlier this spring....
