Stadium-Adjacent Living: One Rangers Way Opens in the Arlington Entertainment District

The 300-unit luxury apartment project is located across from Choctaw Stadium and nearby Globe Life Field, just several field-goal kicks from AT&T Stadium. Developed by Baltimore-based The Cordish Companies in a collaboration with the Texas Rangers, it's the first residential component of the Arlington Entertainment District.

"'AEW: All In Texas" will be held at Globe Life Field in Arlington on July 12, 2025 and broadcasted globally on pay-per-view. Arlington Mayor Jim Ross said "fans from around the world" will converge on the city to be part of AEW's big annual event, "delivering a significant economic windfall to the region."

The company said a new name—Anthem—was selected for the 40-year-old Lincoln Square shopping center, and it will go into effect at the start of demolition, which should begin in the second quarter of 2025.

The new hotel, at 888 Nolan Ryan Expressway, is Loews Hotel & Co.'s second and largest hotel in Arlington, and is described as "the first-of-its-kind" in the market. All together, the Loews Arlington complex offers nearly 1,200 guest rooms and 300,000 square feet of meeting space. One of its upcoming attractions: the 2024 MLB All-Star Game in July.

Overair said it expects the eVTOL air taxi operations to offer a direct connection to Arlington's Entertainment District, the home of Six Flags Over Texas, Hurricane Harbor, the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, Arlington Renegades, and the WNBA’s Dallas Wings—as well as numerous restaurants, shopping centers, museums, and live entertainment venues. The service could begin in 2028.

EV Charging Tech Firm Wallbox Opens its First U.S. Manufacturing Facility in Arlington

The $70 million, 130,000-square-foot Arlington manufacturing facility will initially produce Wallbox's Pulsar Plus smart home EV charger. Next year, production will begin on the company's Hypernova EV chargers, which can add up to 100 miles of range in five minutes.
“Today only 3% of the chargers required globally for the next decade have been installed," says Enric Asunción, CEO of Wallbox. "Bringing Wallbox’s manufacturing capabilities to the U.S. significantly bolsters our ability to meet U.S. needs, deliver to public funding programs, and drive the energy transition.”

The 300-unit One Rangers Way will be "one of the most luxurious, resort-style apartment communities in the country" when it opens in 2024, the city of Arlington says. Just a short walk from Choctaw Stadium, Globe Life Field, and AT&T Stadium, it will provide the "missing piece" at the heart of the Arlington Entertainment District, said Rangers EVP Rob Matwick.
"One of the things that was very important to our company, to the Rangers, to the city, was that we create a 365 community and a heartbeat for the city," Blake Cordish, principal at The Cordish Companies, said at the groundbreaking. “To do that, you need great residential."

Ross was elected mayor of Arlington in June 2021, and one of his goals for the city is to have something Dallas and Fort Worth are both known for: a signature skyline.
