Barbara R. Smith, M. Chad Crow, and Elaine D. Crowley join the board at a busy time for the company. In the 12-month period ended June 30, D.R. Horton closed 88,971 homes in its homebuilding operations, in addition to 5,284 single-family rental homes and 2,916 multi-family rental units in its rental operations.
D.R. Horton has been the nation's largest homebuilder by volume since 2002 and has closed more than 1 million homes in its 45-year history. The company's Co-COO, Paul J. Romanowski, has been promoted to president and CEO, replacing David V. Auld, who will transition to executive vice chair of the board.
Residential homebuilder Landsea Homes announced that it's moving its corporate headquarters from Newport Beach, California, to 17Seventeen McKinney in Uptown Dallas. "As a national publicly traded homebuilder with communities from California to Florida, this is a strategic move in the best interests of our shareholders," said CEO and director John Ho.
Dallas-based Invitation Homes is teaming up with Boston property investment firm Rockpoint Group to buy and renovate expensive single-family homes for rental. Their plan: targeting homes in “premium neighborhoods" across the U.S. to serve "renters by choice." With expected debt, the total venture commitment is $750 million.
