For more than 85 years, Southwestern Medical Foundation has been an impact-driven public charity focused on building a sustainable funding source for innovative research, best-in-class medical education, and the highest standard of care at UT Southwestern Medical Center and its related institutions, the nonprofit said.

At the 37th annual Texas Women’s Foundation luncheon, Olympic track and field legend Allyson Felix was a key voice, showing that speed is of the essence when it comes to advancing opportunities for girls and women. With a theme of "Transforming Texas," the event also featured Dallas Mavericks President and CEO Cynt Marshall, the award-winning Garland High School step team, and a live-streaming room next door where 200 local students took it all in.
"Strive to live bravely," Felix told the audience and the students watching next door.

Texas Women's Foundation is leading a legacy of inclusion, including with its members: women of color and people who identify as LGBTQ make up 49 percent of the board and 53 percent of staff. It's one of the most diverse and powerful boards in the region, according to its board chair.
