NFL No. 5 Draft Pick Joins G8RTech’s Advisory Board, Will Wear Its Concussion-Prevention Head Covering

In 2022, the New York Giants drafted Oregon edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux No. 5 overall in the 2025 NFL draft. When he rushes Dak Prescott this fall, he'll be wearing a concussion-preventing balaclava from Dallas-based startup G8RTech.

A new Texas Monthly story says the startup's latest G8RSkin product reduces the chance of concussion by as much as 79%, according to a rating by the Southern Impact Research Center, which found the device provides the most effective protection on impacts to the top of the helmet.
