Two months after selecting AECOM Hunt, Byrne Construction Services, and EJ Smith to manage “the full scope” of phase one of a major expansion of the Fort Worth Convention Center, the city's plans for the area could be getting even bigger.
An advisory committee of community stakeholders and project team representatives recently recommended that the city council spend an additional $43 million to realign Commerce Street, allowing for the development of a Convention Center District that could feature "a dynamic urban design mix of new shops, restaurants, and other experiences," the city said.
