The lithium-ion battery recycling company has opened its new HQ and R&D laboratory in Carrollton, with a goal of "advancing critical metals recovery in a way that's both economically sustainable and environmentally responsible." The company is doing that through the use of its proprietary Membrane Solvent Extraction technology.
La La Land Kind Cafe—the coffee shop chain that's been "normalizing kindness" since it opened its first cafe in 2017 on Lower Greenville in Dallas—will debut its first drive-thru location in Richardson Saturday. Offering internship programs for youths who've aged out of foster care, the brand has a goal of spreading both opportunity and joy.
That's won nice rewards for its founder, former SMU Cox School of Business student François Reihani, who made the cover of Entrepreneur's "Young Millionaires" issue and landed on Forbes' 30 Under 30 Social Impact list.
Founded in 2016, Momentum—whose CEO is on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list—is a lithium-ion battery recycling company. It's developed a patented battery recycling technology in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Lab and Halliburton Labs.
The investment will help Momentum build its first two battery recycling plants.
