Irving-Based 7-Eleven Launches 7Charge EV Fast-Charging Network, App

At 7-Elevens across North Texas, cars pull up to "slurp" down gas day and night. But electric vehicle owners may soon be joining them for their own fast, eco-friendly fill-ups, thanks to the launch of the new 7Charge EV charging network and app. Irving-based 7-Eleven today announced the rollout of 7Charge, which has begun delivering "a convenient and reliable fast-charging experience" at several 7-Eleven stores locations in Texas, Florida, Colorado, and California—including at least two locations in Dallas and Fort Worth.

In June, Wallbox announced its plan to go public through a $1.5 billion merger with Westbury, N.Y.-based SPAC Kensington Capital Acquisition Corp. Local hiring for the Arlington plant will begin immediately, Wallbox says, with on-site retooling set to begin in October. The new factory is anticipated to create around 250 direct jobs in the region by 2030—and manufacture 500,000 units annually by then as well.
