The United Way of Metropolitan Dallas' nearly yearlong social innovation accelerator program came to a close this week at "The Pitch" with the awarding of more than $275,000 in prize money and the award of Social Innovator of the Year. The competition's five finalists are social entrepreneurs with innovative ideas for improving access to education, income, and health. The 2023 Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Awards program awarded $5 million in total grants to nonprofits across the country. The local recipients include Mercy Street and Cornerstone Crossroads Academy in Dallas and City House in Plano. "Through our True Inspiration Awards grant program, Chick-fil-A helps empower local nonprofits that are leading positive change and creating tangible impact throughout the communities they serve," said Chick-fil-A's Brent Fielder.
