CBRE Is Moving Its Global HQ to Park District Building with Klyde Warren Park Views

Commercial real estate giant CBRE Group—which moved its headquarters from California to Uptown Dallas in 2020—plans to move its HQ just a couple blocks away to the Park District complex, where it will have striking views of Klyde Warren Park below and the downtown Dallas skyline just to the south.

That's according to a report by Steve Brown in the Dallas Morning News, who says CBRE will be leasing two and a half floors of office space totaling 67,000 square feet that were originally snapped up by its coworking business, Hana, in 2019.

Commercial real estate investors nationwide ranked Dallas-Fort Worth as the #1 market for investment among the top 10 U.S. metros, according to a 2023 U.S. Investor Intentions Survey conducted by Dallas-based CBRE. According to the survey, more investors are looking beyond gateway markets and prioritizing high-performing secondary markets in 2023. Dallas-Fort Worth ranked No. 1 among the most preferred U.S. markets for investment, and No. 1 among the top 10 markets expected to outperform.

DFW Tops U.S. Metros in Commercial Property Deals for 3rd Year in a Row

According to the latest MSCI Inc. estimate, more than $42.5 billion in commercial properties were sold in DFW in 2022. North Texas “wrested the top slot from Manhattan at the onset of the pandemic and has held it ever since,” MSCI analysts said in the report. Dallas-based CBRE was the top-ranked firm for commercial real estate investment sales nationally in 2022—for the 17th straight year.

Dallas Startup TestFit Lands $20M for AI-powered Building Configurator Technology

Co-Founder Clifton Harness says TestFit is the first company to connect pro forma, construction cost, and asset design through building configurator software. The technology allows companies to "de-risk decisions" and log critical time savings when they develop new real estate. The funding will help the startup expand its R&D, quadruple its product and engineering teams, and build a new HQ.

“With TestFit, we see a disruptor driving a paradigm shift in the real estate industry,” said Gregg Hill, co-founder and managing partner at Parkway Venture Capital, which led the funding round.

Over the past five years, DFW’s talent pool has grown by nearly 15%, with close to 188,000 residents employed in the industry.
