In 2021 alone, 23 kids in the U.S. died of heatstroke after being left in hot cars. Now a team from Plano-based Toyota Connected North America has developed new tech that uses millimeter-wave, high-resolution 4D imaging radar to detect passengers who've been left behind in a vehicle.

When that happens, a long list of alerts from car honks to flashing lights to texts and smart home device messages could lead to the biggest impact of all: saving a child's life.
