Abstract: A monolithic dielectric coating composed of microscale periodic high-contrast gratings on multilayers of high and low refractive index optical materials is described, which is deposited on metal thin-films of flexible polymer insulation sheeting. The emittance can be minimized to any blackbody temperature, using parameter optimization of high-contrast grating phase-shift mode conditions. The high-low refractive index infrared-transparent multilayer is based on Fabry-Prot cavity, but with non-quarter-wave thicknesses to achieve multilayer insulation conductance below that of metal films. This ultralow emittance coating is most relevant to thermal management of refrigeration and electronic components.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an optical aberration compensation lens using glass-ceramics and a method of making the same. The method of manufacturing the optical aberration compensation lens includes applying at least one heat treatment to a base glass material of a base composition to form a glass-ceramic material with a volume filling fraction of one or more species of nanocrystals. This process is glass composition agnostic and can be applied to generate any glass-ceramic composition formed through controlled nucleation and growth. In certain embodiments, the species and/or volume filling fraction of nanocrystals determines the resulting index of refraction and dispersion characteristic. Accordingly, application of different heat treatments (e.g., nucleation temperature, growth temperature, and/or treatment times) to the same base glass material produces different glass-ceramic materials with different optical properties (e.g., index of refraction and/or dispersion characteristic).

Inventor(s): Nolan Serrao (Plano, TX), Olamide Oluwatomi Fanilola (Frisco, TX)
Assignee(s): UIPCO, LLC (San Antonio, TX)
Law Firm: Potomac Law Group, PLLC (3 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 17724778 on 04/20/2022 (1217 days app to issue)
Abstract: A location-based safety alert system can gather data describing potential health- and safety-related issues at various geographic locations (e.g., crime statistics, disease spread rates, weather reports, and travel advisories). The location-based safety alert system can develop models that characterize how dangerous a location is based on the data describing it. The location-based safety alert system can apply the model, as circumstances at a location change, to compute danger scores that reflect how dangerous the location is at that time. Using the danger scores, the location-based safety alert system can alert users of dangers present in areas of interest to them (e.g., where they will be traveling to soon, where they have family members living, or where they are presently located). The alerts can notify users of the risk present at a geographic location as well as advise them of services and resources available to mitigate the risk.

The semantic role classifier may determine a class that corresponds to the topic-token, and a class that corresponds to the action-token. The action topic ontology may store the classes and one or more relationships between the classes. The semantic relationship builder may determine a vector defining a relationship between the action-token and the topic-token.

Electronic health record interoperability tool
Patent No. 12394505
Inventor(s): Richard R. Selvaggi (Commerce, TX)
Assignee(s): UNASSIGNED
Law Firm: Carstens, Allen Gourley, LLP (no location found)
Application No., Date, Speed: 17674323 on 02/17/2022 (1279 days app to issue)
Abstract: Disclosed principles permit exchange of patient information between disparate Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems by identifying a source standard medical record (SMR), breaking the SMR into elemental record parts without data or patient information, labeling each SMR elemental part with a Field Indicator Code (FIC), and concatenating the FIC labeled elemental parts. The concatenated FIC labeled elemental parts are used as a guide by disparate EHR systems to break down their EHRs into the same electronic elemental parts, labeling the corresponding elemental parts with the appropriate FIC, and then concatenating each part. As data is entered into an EHR during a patient service, a unique Accountability Information (A-I) label is created for that service and added to the FIC as data is added to the corresponding elemental part. An importing EHR system reads the standard FICs and places each A-I+FIC elemental part with data into its matching standardized FIC label elemental part where the data may be read.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices related to techniques for reducing inter-die signal loads within a multi-die package are disclosed. The multi-die package includes a first memory die handling interfacing with a host for the package and at least one second memory die coupled to and configured to communication with the first memory die via an inter-die connection. A technique involves adding an additional wirebond pad to each die in the multi-die package. When the inter-die connections are made, the wirebond pad associated with the first memory die transmitter is connected to the wirebond pad associated with the receiver of a second memory die that is not connected to the transmitter of the second memory die. By not connecting to the transmitter of the second memory die, the first memory die transmits inter-die signals to the second memory die such that a lower signal load is achieved within the multi-die package.

Two dimensional (2D) transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) materials and alloys as catalysts for cathode in lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries
Patent No. 12394792
Inventor(s): Wonbong Choi (Coppell, TX)
Assignee(s): University of North Texas (Denton, TX)
Law Firm: Norton Rose Fulbright US LLP (Local + 13 other metros)
Application No., Date, Speed: 18132871 on 04/10/2023 (862 days app to issue)
Abstract: Two-dimensional (2D) material-based metal or alloy catalysts synthesized on carbon materials (e.g., carbon nanotubes) prevent polysulfide shuttling and overcome technical challenges for developing practical lithium-sulfur (LiS) batteries. Soluble lithium polysulfides (LiPSs) tend to shuttle during battery cycling and corrode a Li anode, leading to eventual performance fading in the LiS battery. This shuttle effect can be reduced by accelerating the conversion of the dissolved polysulfides to the insoluble LiPSs and back to the sulfur. A 2D material-based alloy or 2D material synthesized on carbon materials can suppress polysulfide shuttling by catalyzing polysulfide reactions. 2D material-based alloys with 2H (semiconducting)-1T (metallic) mixed phase exhibit synergistic effects of accelerated electron transfer and catalytic performance as confirmed by the lower charge-transfer resistance of carbon nanotube (CNT)-S cathode and the high binding energy of LiPSs to the catalyst.

Abstract: A network system to provide real-time integration and processing of user data with infrastructure data to generate solutions to user pain points. Real-time user data, including feedback and interactions, is generally not uniform and overwhelmingly large. The system provides solutions to user pain-points at scale, which, in some instances, may be unknown to the service provider. The system does so by contextually linking user data and categorizing it into standardized taxonomies. The infrastructure data is then analyzed against the taxonomies by the system”s AI/ML network. The system then provides one or more pain point identifications and solutions. The system may also provide an interface to visualize the taxonomies, pain points, and trend analysis of the pain points.
