The Dallas-based Don Morphy custom and ready-to-wear menswear label announced its first pop-up brick and mortar store in Victory Park running through April 12.
The fashion startup is a local success story. Founder Daniel Mofor’s experience goes back to management at Walmart, and the company launched a Kickstarter campaign in 2016 to expand its offerings.
The startup’s suits and shoes are designed in the U.S. and then handmade in Florence, Italy.
Don Morphy’s clientele now includes notables such as former Dallas Cowboys star Emmitt Smith, actor Morris Chestnut, mega-pastor T.D. Jakes, and NBA players Dwight Howard and Tyson Chandler. The label was recently recognized by Fashion Group International of Dallas as one of the “Rising Stars” in men’s fashion.
In a New York Times profile from last October, Howard said, “I have a stylist, J. Bolin, and he works with a manufacturer called Don Morphy. We sit down and go over the styles. I choose the lining, the material, the colors. It’s like a day’s worth of working on these suits before the season starts.”
Don Morphy’s first physical location in Victory Park is fitting given the fashion label’s connection to the NBA and the pop-up’s proximity to the home court of the Dallas Mavericks, the American Airlines Center.
The store will offer a range of the label’s ready-to-wear footwear and accessories, fully customizable suits, and menswear pieces. Pop-up customers will have access to exclusive deals and promotions along with special events. Morfor will be on hand at the limited time store to help with custom orders and personal styling assistance.
“We are excited to debut the Don Morphy brand to the Victory Park community. Our Victory Park pop-up will allow our existing customers the opportunity to experience the brand in a new way, and will introduce our Italian quality and flair to a new audience,” said Don Morphy Chief Operation Officer Serge Laurent in a statement.
The Don Morphy pop-up store will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 2404 Victory Park Lane through April 12, and the location will host a free customer appreciation event and live fashion show 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 24.
