Scrubbing fluid and methods for using same
Patent No. 11819798

Inventor(s): Brett Christopher Roberts (Little Elm, TX)
Assignee(s): INEOS AMERICAS, LLC (Mobile, AL)
Law Firm: Roy Kiesel Ford Doody North, APLC (1 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 17582461 on 01/24/2022 (666 days app to issue)

Abstract: A scrubbing solution for removing contaminants, including particularly hydrogen sulfide, from a fluid. The scrubbing solution includes at least one scrubbing reagent which has a primary or secondary amine and an acid, which may be phosphoric acid. The fluid being scrubbed is passed through the scrubbing solution. The contaminants react with the scrubbing reagent securing them in the scrubbing solution. The fluid being scrubbed and the scrubbing solution are then separated. The scrubbing solution is heated and, if the scrubbing solution is under pressure, the pressure is reduced. The acid facilitates thorough removal of the contaminants, and especially the hydrogen sulfide, from the scrubbing solution. The scrubbing solution is then ready for reuse. Because the scrubbing solution is rendered substantially free of hydrogen sulfides, it can absorb other sulfide contaminants that might not otherwise be absorbed.

Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for offloading cargo from a tank trailer, which has at least interior compartments, to one or more discharge points. The apparatus includes two or more T-connectors each of which is connected, via a valve, to an outlet of a respective one of the interior compartments of the tank trailer. Each T-connector has an axis defined by a pair of opposing arms and, contrary to conventional apparatus and methods, the T-connectors are positioned with their axes oriented perpendicularly or obliquely relative to the length of the tank trailer. Additionally, for each T-connector, a discharge conduit is connected to one of the opposing arms so that all of the discharge conduits extend from the same side of the tank trailer, perpendicularly or obliquely relative to the length of the tank trailer. A blower conduit is also connected to each T-connector, to the other of the pair of opposing arms, and extend from the other side the tank trailer, opposite the discharge conduits. The blower conduits are also connected to at least one blower which provides air flow and pressure. The method involves providing power to the blower(s), and opening the valves to cause the cargo to flow from each of the interior compartments and form multiple flow streams which flow concurrently, along multiple flow paths, to the one or more discharge points. This apparatus and method reduce the time necessary to accomplish offloading the cargo, among other advantages.

Abstract: A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a network of wireless remote climate sensors to develop a complete heat map of an enclosed space. The remote climate sensor is configured to collect temperature and humidity data on a zone of the enclosed space. The HVAC system uses a network of these sensors to obtain data points across the enclosed space. The resulting heat map is used by the HVAC system to determine where to direct air in the enclosed space. By comparing the temperature and humidity at a specific remote climate sensor with the user”s desired temperature and humidity, the HVAC system can decide whether to increase or decrease the air flow through a variable damper that is located near the remote climate sensor. By conducting this analysis throughout the enclosed space and making incremental adjustments to the air flow in hot and cold spots in the enclosed space, the disclosed HVAC system provides even comfort to the user along with reduced energy consumption.

Abstract: A system and process for onboarding client devices to a key management server. In operation, a device generates an asymmetric key pair including a public key and a private key. The device obtains an access token from an identity management server after successfully authenticating with the identity management server. The device transmits a request including the access token and the public key to the key management server to onboard the client device. The device receives a response including encrypted bootstrap information from the key management server. The bootstrap information included in the response is encrypted using the public key of the asymmetric key pair. The device decrypts the encrypted bootstrap information using the private key of the asymmetric key pair to obtain the bootstrap information and then uses the bootstrap information for encrypting communications transmitted to the key management server or for decrypting communications received from the key management server.

Reducing context coded and bypass coded bins to improve context adaptive binary arithmetic coding (CABAC) throughput
Patent No. 11825093

Inventor(s): Madhukar Budagavi (Plano, TX), Vivienne Sze (Cambridge, MA)
Assignee(s): Texas Instruments Incorporated (Dallas, TX)
Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 17824414 on 05/25/2022 (545 days app to issue)

Abstract: Techniques for context-adaptive binary arithmetic coding (CABAC) coding with a reduced number of context coded and/or bypass coded bins are provided. Rather than using only truncated unary binarization for the syntax element representing the delta quantization parameter and context coding all of the resulting bins as in the prior art, a different binarization is used and only part of the resulting bins are context coded, thus reducing the worst case number of context coded bins for this syntax element. Further, binarization techniques for the syntax element representing the remaining actual value of a transform coefficient are provided that restrict the maximum codeword length of this syntax element to 32 bits or less, thus reducing the number of bypass coded bins for this syntax element over the prior art.

Abstract: A Wi-Fi device in a WLAN network includes a processor and a transceiver adapted to be coupled to an antenna, and a power saving medium access in congested network environments algorithm that is activated after a Wi-Fi connection is established with its access point (AP). A Traffic Indication Map (TIM) bitmap in a TIM information element received in a beacon frame from the AP is analyzed to determine whether more than a predetermined number of bits (X) are set to indicate the AP has 1 buffered frame for ones of the Wi-Fi devices to conclude whether the WLAN is in a congested environment. When in a congested environment, transmissions responsive to the beacon are postponed by entering a sleep mode for a random period of time (P). After P expires, the sleep mode is exited and a poll frame is transmitted to the AP to try to gain medium access.
