North Texas has long been a testing ground for restaurant concepts. Today McDonald’s—the No. 1 fast food brand on earth—is adding to that trend by opening its second-ever CosMc’s, a new “small format beverage-led concept,” at 6033 Campbell Road in Dallas.
Though it’s straight from “the McDonald’s universe,” CosMc’s is a little more out there than your typical Mickey D’s. Unlike the company’s down-to-earth, classic burger-and-fries world, CosMc’s offers “already astronomically popular” menu items including the frozen beverage Sour Cherry Energy Burst, a Churro Cold Brew Frappé, and an Island Pick-Me-Up Punch.
The location also offers signature sandwiches (Spicy Queso and Creamy Avocado Tomatillo) and McPops—donut holes stuffed with cookie butter, apple cinnamon, and hazelnut filling.
Two all-new menu items being dropped at the Dallas location are the Beach Protein Frappe, a “breezy blend of banana flavor and protein-packed whipped indulgence,” and the Melon Herb Chiller, “a radiant fusion of watermelon and mint flavors paired with our signature lemonade and an invigorating arctic kick.” Those are just two ways CosMc’s is said to offer an “expanding universe” of options.
Customizing your CosMc’s order
While “Have it your way” may be the slogan for a whole different brand, it still applies at CosMc’s.
The new concept encourages customers to customize their drinks “for a fun twist.” The company said personalizations at the first-ever CosMc’s test location in the Chicago suburb of Bolingbrook have included adding fruity popping boba to the Tropical Spiceade or an energy shot to the Blackberry Mint Green Tea.
9 more CosMc’s coming to Dallas and San Antonio
If the Dallas location is a bit of a hike and you can live without a McPop for a minute, hang tight. McDonald’s says it’s opening around nine other CosMc’s “test and learn” locations across the Dallas and San Antonio metro areas in the coming months.
