‘Only Murders In The Building’ Escape Room Experience Coming to Grapevine Mills

Ready to channel your inner Oliver, Charles, and Mabel from Hulu's "Only Murders in the Building"? You'll get the chance starting Feb. 8 when Nashville-based The Escape Game debuts its escape room experience in North Texas.

For four seasons on Hulu, a motley trio of podcasting sleuths have bungled their way to crime-solving in their New York apartment building—in a show titled, appropriately, “Only Murders in the Building.” Now the hit comedy series starring Martin Short, Steve Martin, and Selena Gomez has inspired something else: an escape room experience coming to North Texas.

The Escape Game, a Nashville-based national escape room company, already debuted its “Only Murders” escape room experience in California and New York locations. On Saturday, Feb. 8, it’s bringing the experience to the Escape Game location at Grapevine Mills mall in Grapevine. (The company also has an Escape Game venue at Grandscape in The Colony.)

Inspired by season four of the Emmy Award-winning series, the interactive escape room features an intricately designed movie set. Guests will get a chance to immerse themselves in the show, “diving deep into a captivating new mystery and saving the day when a crucial film reel mysteriously vanishes,” the company said.

The experience features hidden bookcase doorways, secret passageways, and immersive elements echoing key aspects of the show’s characters and storylines. As they navigate the hour-long adventure, guests must engage their problem-solving skills to unravel the latest secrets of the Arconia’s residents—”all while reliving cherished moments from the series.” That includes interacting with well-known props and discovering hidden “Easter eggs,” as time ticks down on their detective prowess.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be teaming up once again with Hulu to bring the world of ‘Only Murders in the Building’ to Texas,” Jonathan Murrell, co-founder and CMO of The Escape Game, said in a statement. “The series gave us endless possibilities to create an adventure full of unexpected turns and thrilling surprises. We hope the escape room fulfills fans’ desires to immerse themselves even further in the world of the show, offering an exciting and interactive way to connect with the story and characters they love.”

The Escape Game is a leading experiential entertainment company with 47 retail locations across the U.S. and a team of over 1,300 employees, who reportedly served the company’s 9 millionth guest in 2024.

The first four seasons of “Only Murders in the Building” are available on Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ internationally.
