Fortress Solutions Field Services
Fortress Solutions, a Plano-based global services and software company, has expanded its field services capabilities to provide “critical infrastructure support” for government defense contractors—including assistance in the construction and maintenance of “autonomous surveillance towers across the U.S.”
The work is being done for the Department of Defense, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and other national security–focused sectors, Fortress noted, through the deployment of “skilled, smart-hands labor.”
The services and software analytics company—which builds, maintains, and repairs communications networks—said its field service solutions are designed to serve customers of all sizes and industries, “with proven expertise in defense, telecommunications, utilities, and beyond.”
Fortress said this strategic capability enables clients to rapidly scale their workforce while optimizing cost efficiency and ensuring “mission-critical operational readiness.”
The company said its teams are trained to operate in diverse environments, from secure government sites to large-scale industrial deployments.
Integrated Surveillance Tower program

Fortress called its sustainment services for the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol’s Integrated Surveillance Tower (IST) program “a critical component of CPS’ surveillance infrastructure.”
The IST program encompasses both fixed and relocatable towers equipped with advanced sensors, cameras, and radar systems, the company noted, providing 24/7 surveillance capabilities in remote and challenging terrains.
Per Fortress, its work on the tower program includes:
- Installation, maintenance, and upgrades of fixed and relocatable surveillance towers, ensuring continuous operational readiness.
- Cameras & Sensor Suites: Deployment and servicing of advanced imaging and detection systems, enhancing situational awareness.
- Preventive & Corrective Maintenance (PM/CM): Regular inspections, diagnostics, and repairs to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Battery Backup & Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems: Installation and maintenance of renewable energy solutions, ensuring uninterrupted power supply.
- Logistics & Storage: Efficient management of spare parts, tools, and equipment to support rapid deployment and maintenance activities.
- Trained Background Investigation (BI) Employees: Deployment of Border Protection-trained personnel familiar with IST operations and protocols
“At Fortress, our field service operations are driven by unparalleled expertise and a commitment to excellence,” Rick Brown, VP of service delivery at Fortress, said in a statement. “Our team is incredibly flexible, adapting to the unique needs of each client. Our ability to swiftly adapt and respond to dynamic environments ensures that we consistently meet and exceed expectations.”
The company said its approach includes envisioning, designing, constructing, and sustaining mission-critical infrastructure.
