Fotona, a global supplier of high-performance laser systems for aesthetic, dental, and gynecological applications, has appointed Jeff Duchemin as group president and CEO.
The Slovenia-based company, which marked its 60th anniversary in laser innovation last year, has its U.S. headquarters in Irving.
Duchemin brings decades of leadership experience in the medical technology sector, with a background that spans senior executive roles in both U.S. and international markets. Most recently, he held leadership posts in the Interventional Surgery and Integrated Diagnostic Solutions business at Becton Dickinson. He also previously served as president and CEO of Harvard Biosciences.
“Jeff is a visionary leader with a strong track record of driving global success in the life sciences and medical device industries,” Executive Chairman Jay Katzen said in a statement. “We are excited to have him join Fotona, which has industry-leading experts and solutions, to lead Fotona through its next chapter of innovation and market leadership.”
According to the company, Duchemin is known for his expertise in driving revenue growth—both organically and through strategic acquisitions. Fotona said that experience will be critical as it accelerates innovation and expands its presence globally.
“Innovation is at the heart of Fotona,” Duchemin said. “I’m passionate about accelerating growth by enhancing our current solutions and introducing breakthrough technologies. Fotona has a solid foundation, exceptional talent, and world-class products. It’s an honor to lead the company at such a pivotal time in its journey.”
A six-decade legacy of laser innovation
Founded in 1964, Fotona is recognized as one of the longest-standing manufacturers in the laser technology field. The company was an early pioneer in integrating dual laser wavelengths—Er:YAG and Nd:YAG—within a single system, advancing treatment capabilities across multiple disciplines.
Most recently, Fotona launched the Dynamis Max, its next-generation aesthetic platform. Designed to support more than 100 advanced treatment applications, the new system offers expanded versatility, improved usability, and enhanced treatment efficiency.
With operations spanning global markets and a growing presence in the U.S., Fotona said it is focused on expanding its technology leadership while meeting growing demand for non-invasive and energy-based medical solutions.
