Loews Hotels & Co. has announced plans for Americana by Loews Hotels-Arlington, TX , its third hotel in the city’s Entertainment District. With the move, Loews said it’s doubling down on its long-term belief in the destination and its continued growth “as a premier meetings, events, and entertainment hub.”
“This project reflects our strong belief in Arlington as a dynamic destination and our confidence in its continued growth,” Alex Tisch, President and CEO of Loews Hotels & Co, said in a statement. “Americana by Loews Hotels honors our heritage while looking ahead, bringing together scale, service excellence, and design to support group and leisure travelers alike. As our third hotel in Arlington, it also marks an important milestone for Loews as owner, operator, and developer.”
Loews said it plans to demolish the existing Sheraton Arlington Hotel on the site in early June and replace it with the Americana by Loews Hotels. The company called it a “ground-shaking event” and a significant evolution for the market and for the brand.
Construction on the new Americana by Loews Hotel is slated to begin this summer.
Americana makes three
The brand’s 28th property, Americana by Loews Hotels pays tribute to the iconic Americana Hotel in Bal Harbour, Florida—a Loews landmark that opened in 1956. The term “Americana” embodies the spirit of American hospitality, a hallmark of Loews Hotels for decades.
The new, modern addition to North Texas is “designed to honor the past, embrace the present, and shape the future” while celebrating Loews’ rich heritage in refined hospitality, the company said. It will join two existing Loews properties in Arlington’s Sports and Entertainment District, creating “a best-in-class destination for tomorrow’s travelers,” the company said.
Loews opened Live! by Loews Hotel and Convention Center in Arlington in 2019, then the larger Loews Arlington Hotel and Convention Center in 2024.
Americana by Loews Hotels-Arlington, TX deepens the company’s presence in the Arlington market and builds on its strategy to invest in destinations where it can deliver long-term value for guests, partners, and the local community, the company said.
With the opening of the third hotel, the company’s campus in Arlington will have a total of 1,695 guest rooms and more than 374,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space.
Designed with meetings and events in mind
The Americana will offer 507 guest rooms, including 39 suites, and standard room sizes ranging from 350 to 400 square feet. Designed with meetings and events at its core, the property will provide more than 83,000 square feet of total indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including a 10,000-square foot, Event Barn, making it a premier destination for large-scale gatherings, Loews Hotels said.
