‘It’s All in the Name’: Hotels.com Is Looking for a Room Service Critic, Robe Researcher, and Gym Rater

The dream "jobs" offered by Dallas-based Hotels.com could not be more self-explanatory. That's the point of the company's new "It's All in the Name" brand campaign, focused on the clarity of what the company's name is all about. Winning "job applicants" get a $5,000 Hotels.com gift card to use for their research. Here's how you can apply.

Dallas-based Hotels.com likes its name for one big reason: It’s self-explanatory. So the company launched a new brand campaign called “It’s All in the Name,” reminding travelers that when they book with Hotels.com, there’s no catch—”just flexible rewards, deals on hundreds of thousands of hotels, and tools that make the process easy.”

To continue its self-explanatory mission, the company has announced three new dream “jobs” that are exactly what they sound like:

A Room Service Critic will specialize in—you got it—critiquing room service.

Robe Researcher will have the soft, fuzzy task of researching hotel robes.

And a Gym Rater will do guess what? Rate hotel gyms.

Travelers can enter for a chance to snag any one of these three jobs, the company said. Selected “applicants” will receive a one-time payment in the form of a $5,000 Hotels.com gift card to use towards their stays. Winners will be asked to report on their findings after their hotel stay is complete by posting on social media and leaving a guest review on Hotels.com.

Melanie Fish, VP of public relations at Hotels.com, said booking a hotel “shouldn’t be complicated, and neither should a job title.”

“At Hotels.com, we like things simple—even our mascot, Bellboy, is an actual bell,” Fish added in a statement. “So, when we say, ‘Hotel Robe Researcher,’ you don’t need a job description because it’s all right there in the name.”

To apply for the “jobs,” you can go here by 11:59 p.m. on March 24.
