Irving’s United Flow Technologies Acquires Florida’s CS3 Water Works, Georgia’s Principle Environmental

The acquisitions are part of UFT’s strategy to boost regional expertise while growing its portfolio of solutions to better serve municipal and industrial customers throughout the Southeast, said the company, which was acquired by Berkshire Partners in December from H.I.G. Capital.

Irving-based municipal and industrial water and wastewater solutions company United Flow Technologies (UFT) has acquired CS3 Water Works and Principle Environmental, strengthening UFT’s presence across the Southeast and Florida and expanding its valve and process equipment capabilities in key growth markets.

The acquisitions are part of UFT’s strategy to boost regional expertise while growing its portfolio of solutions to better serve municipal and industrial customers throughout the Southeast, the company said.

CS3 Water Works

Ocala, Florida-based CS3 Water Works provides valves and related waterworks solutions to municipalities and utilities across the state. With a strong reputation for technical expertise and exceptional service, CS3 expands UFT’s valve and flow control presence in Florida and improves its ability to support critical water infrastructure throughout the region, the company said.

“CS3 has built an outstanding reputation in the Florida market through technical excellence and strong customer relationships,” United Flow CEO Matt Hart said in a statement. “Their expertise in valves and flow control further strengthens our ability to deliver comprehensive, high-quality solutions across one of the fastest-growing regions in the country.”

Brian Drexel, president of CS3 Water Works, said the partnership “provides additional resources and capabilities that will allow us to better serve our customers while maintaining the relationships and responsiveness they depend on.”

Principle Environmental, Inc.

Atlanta-based Principle Environmental offers process equipment solutions across Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle. The company brings a wide array of product offerings and industry experience, improving UFT’s ability to serve customers in multiple Southeastern markets, United Flow said.

“Principle Environmental adds meaningful scale and technical depth to the Southeast,” said Hart. “Their comprehensive portfolio of process equipment solutions and strong regional expertise enhance our ability to support municipalities and industrial clients with reliable, long-term infrastructure tools.”

“Joining UFT represents an exciting opportunity for our team and our customers,” said Bob Sender, co-president of Principle Environmental. “The partnership expands our access to resources and collaboration while preserving the local expertise and customer focus that define our business.”

Growing portfolio and new ownership

UFT said that adding CS3 Water Works and Principle Environmental strengthens the company’s mission to protect and improve water resources by providing industry-leading technical expertise, an extensive portfolio of solutions, and trusted local support across the communities it serves.

Berkshire Partners acquired UFT in December from H.I.G. Capital, which retained a minority stake. Founded as a platform investment by H.I.G. in 2021, Irving-based UFT provides process and equipment solutions for municipal and industrial water and wastewater customers. The company’s portfolio includes process equipment, pumps, flow control products, and automation and control systems.
