Vadodara, India-based global engineering and technology service company L&T Technology Services (LTTS) has unveiled its state-of-the-art Engineering Design Center in Plano.
The company said the investment underscores its commitment to delivering advanced solutions in AI & Tech and establishes more near-shore centers tailored to the evolving needs of its clients.
The ITAR-compliant center can handle design, development, and testing for defense products and systems. The new design hub features advanced cybersecurity capabilities, including a Security Operations Center that can support Smart City technology. According to L&T, it’s launching with space for 100 engineers, with plans to add more than 350 high-skilled jobs across mobility, technology, and other core areas.
Strengthening Texas as hub for innovation
Inaugurated by Plano Mayor John B. Muns; Caterpillar Vice President Tim Graham; the Consul General of India in Houston, Manjunath Chenneerappa; and President & Executive Director (Mobility & Tech) at LTTS, Alind Saxena; the center exemplifies innovation and cross-pollination of technologies.
During the inauguration, LTTS engineers showed several of the company’s latest technologies. One demonstration featured the Factory of the Future concept, which applies Industry 4.0 tools for digital manufacturing. They also presented TrackEI, a real-time system for inspecting railway tracks.
Other projects included the LTTS iDriVe framework, which combines driver assistance systems, wireless charging, and battery management. The Fusion platform uses AI to deliver real-time insights for smart cities and manufacturing.
Engineers also demonstrated Software Defined Imaging, which relies on NVIDIA’s Jetson platform to help make endoscopic procedures more precise, efficient, and affordable.
The company said this milestone strengthens Texas’ position as a hub for innovation in AI, generative AI, and digital manufacturing, while underscoring LTTS’ leadership in building intelligent, innovative products.
Officials laud new center
U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz called L&T Technology Services “an example of engineering innovation and a provider of jobs here in Texas.”
He said the company’s new center will help create more quality jobs for engineers — and send a broader signal that “Texas is open for business, and we are ready to lead in the industries of tomorrow.”
Muns thanked LTTS for investing in his city.
He called the new center “an important step forward for our region,” noting that it will launch with 100 professionals and could grow to more than 350 engineering jobs.
Muns added that LTTS is helping shape the future of advanced technology and smart manufacturing in North Texas — and thanked the company “for contributing to a brighter, more innovative future.”
U.S. Rep. Pat Fallon, 4th District of Texas, also welcomed LTTS’ investment.
The congressman called it “an exciting day for Plano and Texas” as L&T Technology Services opened its new Engineering Design Center.
Fallon said the project adds more than 350 engineering jobs that could help drive growth in smart manufacturing and digital transformation. He added that LTTS’ investment “showcases the bright future we are building together.”
‘Industry-defining solutions right here in Texas’
Alind Saxena, president and executive director of mobility and tech at L&T Technology Services, said Plano plays an important role in the company’s global operations.
“This center is more than just an engineering hub — it’s a symbol of our promise to bring innovation closer to our clients,” Saxena said.
“Plano is now a critical pillar in our global delivery model,” he added, pointing to its proximity to customers and local partners working to develop new solutions in Texas.
