Miami-Based Mod Op Acquires North Texas’ Ascend Marketing to Deepen B2B Capabilities

Mod Op—which has a Dallas office and locations across North America—said the deal completes its end-to-end B2B marketing framework. Ascend founder Rich Herbst is now EVP, Client Solutions at the Florida-based firm.

Mod Op, a Miami-based digital agency with offices across North America, including Dallas, has acquired Grapevine-based Ascend Marketing.

The move strengthens Mod Op’s B2B portfolio with deeper capabilities in marketing automation, CRM integration, account-based marketing, and customer experience strategy, the firm said. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“Our team is passionate about helping B2B brands make their marketing operations work harder and smarter,” Ascend Marketing’s Laura Stevenson, who is stepping into an executive vice president role at Mod Op, said in a statement. “Joining Mod Op gives us the ability to scale our impact and deliver even more value to clients who want to unify their marketing efforts under one roof.”

Founded as a people-first, tech-enabled firm, Ascend has built long-term relationships with enterprise clients including Verizon, Nokia, and RingCentral. The agency said it specializes in journey mapping, intent data, lead optimization, and platform enablement on systems including HubSpot and Adobe Marketo Engage.

Mod Op CEO Eric J. Bertrand said demand is rising for integrated solutions that connect strategy, creative, and automation.

“We saw an opportunity to go deeper into data, martech, and automation to meet what many brands need in today’s competitive market,” Bertrand said. “Ascend’s expertise allows us to deliver that depth, providing measurable, end-to-end growth.”

According to the announcement, Ascend is also a SOC 2-certified partner, a credential that underscores its data security and compliance standards—key considerations for enterprise clients handling sensitive customer data.

“When we founded Ascend, our goal was to connect strategy with execution and use data to drive better outcomes,” said founder and managing partner Rich Herbst, who now serves as EVP, Client Solutions at Mod Op. “Mod Op shares that vision, and I’m proud to see our team join forces to redefine what’s possible in B2B and customer engagement.”

Mod Op said the acquisition completes its end-to-end B2B marketing framework, allowing the agency to support clients across the full customer journey—from first touch to renewal and expansion.

The deal is the latest in a string of acquisitions for Mod Op, which has recently added Image Media, Evans Hunt, LAM Design, RTO+P, Crenshaw Communications, and Context Creative, along with strategic leadership hires aimed at scaling operations.

With offices in Dallas, Miami, New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Panama City, and more, Mod Op delivers creative and strategic marketing solutions for brands including Nestlé, Duracell, ExxonMobil, VTech, DoubleVerify, and Baha Mar.
