Drone and sensor manufacturer EagleNXT (NYSE: UAVS) has opened its new global headquarters and manufacturing facility, product, and innovation center in Allen.
In January, EagleNXT announced its relocation from Wichita, Kansas, to North Texas. At the time, CEO Bill Irby called the move “a strategic decision to harness the exceptional talent and abundant opportunities available in this economically vibrant part of the country.”
The Allen facility features EagleNXT’s first-ever U.S. production line for its eBee VISION drone, a fixed-wing surveillance drone that can be deployed in three minutes by a single operator.
During its development, the eBee VISION was tested by special forces in both the U.S. and in Europe, according to EagleNXT. The U.S. Army, the French Army, the Danish Ministry of Defense, and other European forces have taken delivery of the drones, according to multiple reports.
“The DFW metroplex, and Allen in particular, presents us with a dynamic ecosystem of skilled professionals in aerospace, technology, product development, and advanced manufacturing,” Irby said in a statement in January. “This move allows us to tap into a talented workforce that will propel our advancements in drones, sensors, and software, and we’re excited to continuing to grow while calling Texas home.”
A hub for drone assembly, sensor manufacturing, and more
EagleNXT’s new Allen facility will serve as its North American hub for assembly, research & development, administrative, and marketing functions. The company said it will also produce its full line of MicaSense advanced multispectral sensors in Allen.
The Allen facility will also house the ThirdEye USA joint venture, which will manufacture next-generation drone-busting counter UAS systems, including the Meduza X, Chimera UL, and Argus Shield.
Irby thanked Governor Greg Abbott, the state of Texas, and the city of Allen for their “strong support” in the company’s relocation.
“Together, we will drive technological advancement, create high-skilled jobs, and deliver mission-critical solutions that enhance safety and security worldwide,” Irby added in a statement.
Gov. Abbott said EagleNXT’s move to Allen “presents an investment in our booming aerospace and high-tech industries and solidifies Texas as the headquarters of headquarters.”
“This is a major win for the city of Allen and for North Texas,” Abbott added in a statement. “We look forward to working with EagleNXT to ensure their advanced manufacturing operations and new corporate headquarters are successful for generations to come.”
Serving sectors from defense to agriculture and public safety
EagleNXT’s new Allen facility features “modern assembly cells,” which provide the space needed to bring the company’s engineering, training, and customer service activities together to support rapid growth and collaboration across defense, agriculture, public safety, and critical infrastructure sectors, the company said.
The company added that establishing U.S.-based manufacturing will enable more streamlined sales and delivery of its products to both domestic and international customers for defense and commercial applications.
EagleNXT said its drone systems have achieved multiple industry firsts, including FAA approvals for Operations Over People and Beyond Visual Line of Sight, as well as EASA C2 certification in Europe and inclusion on the U.S. Department of Defense’s Blue UAS list.
The company’s sensors are integrated on more than 150 different drone models and are used in over 100 research publications worldwide, EagleNXT added, reinforcing its leadership in “precision agriculture, surveying, and environmental sustainability initiatives.”
EagleNXT originally launched in 2010 as AgEagle, a developer of fixed-wing drones dedicated to precision agriculture. It later grew with its acquisitions of MicaSense and senseFly, a maker of fixed-wing drones used for mapping and surveying.
The company rebranded from AgEagle to EagleNXT in 2025.
More on the eBee VISION drone
Designed for surveillance, intelligence, and reconnaissance, the eBee VISION drone delivers live, 4K-resolution video imagery from a distance of up to 12 miles, while offering 32x zoom and thermal observation capabilities, EagleNXT said. Its sensor payloads are designed to detect, track, and geo-locate objects in both day and night conditions. The drone offers up to 90 minutes of flight time, weighs less than 3.5 pounds, and can be carried in a backpack—”providing optimal mobility for military troops in tactical environments.”
