EagleNXT (NYSE: UAVS), a leading provider of advanced drone and aerial imaging solutions, is relocating its global headquarters from Wichita, Kansas, to the Dallas suburb of Allen. Within its new Allen facility, the company plans to set up its first-ever U.S. production line for its eBee VISION drone, a fixed-wing surveillance drone that can be deployed in three minutes by a single operator.
During its development, the eBee VISION was tested by special forces in both the U.S. and in Europe, according to EagleNXT. The U.S. Army, the French Army, the Danish Ministry of Defense, and other European forces have taken delivery of the drones, according to multiple reports.
Allen facility will also manufacture multispectral sensors for agriculture
In addition to the eBee VISION drone, EagleNXT said it plans to manufacture its MicaSense multispectral sensors at the Allen facility, the company said. The sensors monitor crop health.
A grand opening is slated for this April at the newly leased HQ, to be located at 505 Century Parkway in Allen, with the facility expected to be operational in May. Production startup at the new facility will take place in several phases, the company said.
The new headquarters will serve as the central hub for EagleNXT’s operations. The manufacturing production line in Allen will complement EagleNXT’s existing drone production line at its facility in Switzerland.
EagleNXT said it will make capital investments in its new Allen home base, including upgrades to facilities, offices, tooling, and equipment to support its expanded production. The site will house key support functions for EagleNXT, including engineering, customer support, and marketing/communications teams, with a goal of “fostering greater collaboration and innovation under one roof.”
Tapping into North Texas’ ‘dynamic workforce of skilled professionals’
EagleNXT CEO Bill Irby said his company’s move to North Texas “is a strategic decision to harness the exceptional talent and abundant opportunities available in this economically vibrant part of the country.”
“The DFW metroplex, and Allen in particular, presents us with a dynamic ecosystem of skilled professionals in aerospace, technology, product development, and advanced manufacturing,” Irby added in a statement. “This move allows us to tap into a talented workforce that will propel our advancements in drones, sensors, and software, and we’re excited to continuing to grow while calling Texas home.”
Irby said that setting up the new domestic drone production center in Allen “supports the administration’s recent push for technological dominance in the drone industry and gets capability to the user more quickly.”
“Manufacturing our advanced drones and sensors in the United States provides a strategic advantage as it simplifies the acquisition process for government and parapublic users,” he added. ” We’re committed to domestic manufacturing and product innovation, and this new center supports these priorities.”
Launched in 2010 with focus on agricultural drones
EagleNXT originally launched in 2010 as AgEagle, a developer of fixed-wing drones dedicated to precision agriculture. It later grew with its acquisitions of MicaSense and senseFly, a maker of fixed-wing drones used for mapping and surveying.
The company rebranded from AgEagle to EagleNXT in 2025.
Governor, Allen official laud the move
Calling the move “a major win for the city of Allen and for North Texas,” Governor Greg Abbott said EagleNXT’s relocation “presents an investment in our booming aerospace and high-tech industries and solidifies Texas as the headquarters of headquarters.”
Dan Bowman, president of the Allen Economic Development Corporation, called the move “a testament to the strength and appeal of our community.”
“This is exactly the type of company that brings high-quality jobs, drives innovation, and contributes to the vibrant fabric of Allen,” Bowman added in a statement. “We’re thrilled to welcome EagleNXT to our city and look forward to seeing them thrive here.”
More on the eBee VISION drone
Designed for surveillance, intelligence, and reconnaissance, the eBee VISION drone delivers live, 4K-resolution video imagery from a distance of up to 12 miles, while offering 32x zoom and thermal observation capabilities, EagleNXT said. Its sensor payloads are designed to detect, track, and geo-locate objects in both day and night conditions. The drone offers up to 90 minutes of flight time, weighs less than 3.5 pounds, and can be carried in a backpack—”providing optimal mobility for military troops in tactical environments.”
