DallasNews Corp. Announces New Chief Product & Innovation Officer
For the last two years, Chris Patheiger has been the chief product and data officer for Torstar Corporation, publisher of The Toronto Star. He has more than 13 years of senior management experience leading product, data, technology, and marketing teams in creating and commercializing digital products.
DallasNews Corporation has named Chris Patheiger as chief product and innovation officer, effective Jan. 2, 2024.
For the last two years, Patheiger has been the chief product and data officer for Torstar Corporation, publisher of The Toronto Star. He has more than 13 years of senior management experience leading product, data, technology, and marketing teams in creating and commercializing digital products.
“In this role, Chris will be responsible for product development, data analytics and ensuring our digital products are meeting the evolving needs of our customers,” Katy Murray, president and CFO of DallasNews Corporation, said in a statement. “His deep experience in these areas and diverse background from multiple industries will be instrumental in driving our strategy to build a sustainably profitable digital media and marketing company.”
Patheiger, who will relocate to Dallas from Toronto, said he is excited to live in Dallas and work with “a dynamic team” for an organization that “stands as a becon of integrity, information and community in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.”
He acknowledged the evolving role of news media.

DallasNews Corporation is the Dallas-based holding company of The Dallas Morning News and Medium Giant, a full-service advertising agency with offices in Dallas and Tulsa.
