Abstract: An apparatus and method for detecting leakage current in a non-volatile memory array. A reference current is connected to a leakage detection circuit. A reference code is determined for the leakage detection circuit coupled to a switching circuit. The reference code establishes a leakage current threshold. The reference current is disconnected from the leakage detection circuit and the switching circuit. Next, the leakage detection circuit is connected to a set of word lines of a storage block of a non-volatile memory array by way of the switching circuit. A memory current is generated within the set of word lines. A leakage code is determined for the set of word lines representing leakage current from the word lines in response to the memory current. The leakage code is compared with the reference code. If the leakage code exceeds the reference code, the storage block is deemed unusable.

A receiver VCO generates a receiver VCO signal responsive to the first or a second VCO control voltage. The receiver VCO signal is multiplied by the received signal to generate an I component, and by the received signal phase shifted by 90 to generate a Q component. The second VCO control signal is generated responsive to the I component and the Q component.

Apparatus and mechanism to support multiple time domains in a single SoC for time sensitive network
Patent No. 11405121

Inventor(s): Chunhua Hu (Plano, TX), Denis Beaudoin (Rowlett, TX), Eric Hansen (McKinney, TX), Thomas Anton Leyrer (Geisenhausen, , DE), Venkateswar Reddy Kowkutla (Allen, TX)
Assignee(s): Texas Instruments Incorporated (Dallas, TX)
Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 16552353 on 08/27/2019 (1071 days app to issue)

Abstract: A system on a chip (SOC) is configured to support multiple time domains within a time-sensitive networking (TSN) environment. TSN extends Ethernet networks to support a deterministic and high-availability communication on Layer 2 (data link layer of open system interconnect ”OSI” model) for time coordinated capabilities such as industrial automation and control applications. Processors in a system may have an application time domain separate from the communication time domain. In addition, each type time domain may also have multiple potential time masters to drive synchronization for fault tolerance. The SoC supports multiple time domains driven by different time masters and graceful time master switching. Timing masters may be switched at run-time in case of a failure in the system. Software drives the SoC to establish communication paths through a sync router to facilitate communication between time providers and time consumers. Multiple time sources are supported.

Patent No. 11405138

Inventor(s): Robert Mark Harrison (Grapevine, TX)
Assignee(s): Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ) (Stockholm, , SE)
Law Firm: Withrow Terranova, PLLC (1 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 16483525 on 12/14/2017 (1692 days app to issue)

Abstract: Systems and methods for mixed space time and space frequency block coding are provided. In some embodiments, a method of operating a first node in a wireless communication network for providing time and frequency diversity includes precoding modulation symbols intended for a second node according to two antenna ports on which they are to be transmitted. In a first subset of Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbols, mapping the precoded modulation symbols to resource elements starting first with indices corresponds to frequency. In a different subset of OFDM symbols, mapping the precoded modulation symbols to resource elements in any two adjacent OFDM symbols starting first with indices corresponds to time. In this way, transmission efficiency may be increased by not having any resource elements unused. Additional flexibility for precoding may also be provided when there is no symbol pair mapped to resource elements across two resource blocks.

The plurality of UEs may be coupled to one another through the wired network. The one or more RANs may be simulated in software to simulate data transmissions between the plurality of UEs. The channel condition emulator may be simulated in software to derive channel conditions for each of the plurality of UEs based on their current location. The channel condition emulator may further provide the channel conditions to the plurality of UEs and the one or more RANs.

Techniques for selecting network protocols
Patent No. 11405843

Inventor(s): Malcolm Smith (Richardson, TX)
Assignee(s): Cisco Technology, Inc. (San Jose, CA)
Law Firm: Lee Hayes, P.C. (6 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 17105266 on 11/25/2020 (615 days app to issue)

Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for selecting network protocols using heatmaps. For instance, a system may receive radio frequency information from one or more sources located within an environment. The system may then generate heatmaps using the radio frequency information, where the heatmaps represent characteristics associated with different network protocols. The characteristics may include signal strengths, throughputs, data packet drop rates, data packet retry rates, and/or the like for various locations within the environment. A user device may then receive the heatmaps from the system. Using a location of the user device and the heatmaps, the user device may determine to communicate using a network protocol from the different network protocols. The user device may then establish a connection using the network protocol.

Law Firm: Nixon Vanderhye P.C. (2 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 17011480 on 09/03/2020 (698 days app to issue)

Abstract: A wireless terminal (30) capable of operating in a discontinuous mode comprising and method for operating such wireless terminal (30) facilitate measurements pertaining to position of the wireless terminal (30). The method includes receiving a message from the radio access network (20). The measurement request message is configured to indicate that measurements are to be performed by the wireless terminal on downlink signals transmitted by the base station or by the base station on downlink signals transmitted by the base station. The method further comprises, as a result of or after receiving the message, changing operation of the wireless terminal (30) from a discontinuous mode to a modified mode to facilitate performance of the measurements. Relative to the discontinuous mode at least one of following are shortened or eliminated in the modified mode: (i) the non-reception periods, and (ii) the non-transmission periods. ”Changing from a discontinuous mode . . . to a modified mode” includes one or more of: (1) changing mode of the wireless terminal (e.g., changing from a discontinuous mode [such as discontinuous reception (DRX) or discontinuous transmission (DTX)] to a continuous transmission mode); (2) changing from the discontinuous mode (a first discontinuous mode) to a modified discontinuous mode (a second discontinuous mode).
