Reconfigurable input precision in-memory computing
Patent No. 11556311

Inventor(s): Martin Lueker-Boden (Fremont, CA), Pi-Feng Chiu (Milpitas, CA), Wen Ma (Sunnyvale, CA), Won Ho Choi (Santa Clara, CA)
Assignee(s): SanDisk Technologies LLC (Addison, TX)
Law Firm: Vierra Magen Marcus LLP (2 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 16850395 on 04/16/2020 (1006 days app to issue)

Abstract: Technology for reconfigurable input precision in-memory computing is disclosed herein. Reconfigurable input precision allows the bit resolution of input data to be changed to meet the requirements of in-memory computing operations. Voltage sources (that may include DACs) provide voltages that represent input data to memory cell nodes. The resolution of the voltage sources may be reconfigured to change the precision of the input data. In one parallel mode, the number of DACs in a DAC node is used to configure the resolution. In one serial mode, the number of cycles over which a DAC provides voltages is used to configure the resolution. The memory system may include relatively low resolution voltage sources, which avoids the need to have complex high resolution voltage sources (e.g., high resolution DACs). Lower resolution voltage sources can take up less area and/or use less power than higher resolution voltage sources.

Abstract: A mixed mode programming method permitting users to program with graphical coding blocks and textual code within the same programming tool. The mixed mode preserves the advantages of graphical block programming while introducing textual coding as needed for instructional reasons and/or for functional reasons. Converting a graphical code block or group of blocks to a textual block lets the user see a portion of the textual code in the context of a larger program. Within one programming tool the mixed mode method allows users to learn programming and build purely graphical blocks; then transition into mixed graphical and textual code and ultimately lead to their ability to program in purely textual code. The mixed mode further allows users to program using any combination of drag-and-drop graphical blocks and typed textual code in various forms.

Protecting data memory in a signal processing system
Patent No. 11556421

Inventor(s): Brian Paul Ginsburg (Allen, TX), Karthik Ramasubramanian (Bangalore, , IN), Sandeep Rao (Bangalore, , IN)
Assignee(s): Texas Instruments Incorporated (Dallas, TX)
Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 17242636 on 04/28/2021 (629 days app to issue)

Abstract: Data memory protection is provided for a signal processing system such as a radar system in which the data memory is protected with a common set of parity bits rather than requiring a set of parity bits for each memory word as in Error Correction Coded (ECC) memories. The common set of parity bits may be updated as memory words in the data memory are accessed as part of signal processing of one or more digital signals. The memory protection ensures that in the absence of memory errors the common parity bits are zero at the end of processing the digital signals as long as each word in the data memory that is used for storing the signal processing data is written and read an equal number of times.

Identifying and localizing equipment failures
Patent No. 11558241

Inventor(s): Barry Karesh (Plano, TX), Rudolph Mappus (Plano, TX)
Assignee(s): ATT INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY I, L.P. (Atlanta, GA)
Law Firm: Amin, Turocy Watson, LLP (2 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 17471413 on 09/10/2021 (494 days app to issue)

Abstract: The disclosed technology is directed towards automatically detecting failure states and the cause of the failure. For a network, the technology collects status messages from equipment and customers into batches as they occur. The technology groups and aggregates messages, then transforms the aggregations to the frequency domain. Anomalies induce detectable changes in the particle distribution of a trained particle filter, from which an anomalous spectrogram is generated. The status messages of each device are iteratively removed from the larger set of messages, resulting in reduced subsets that are each aggregated, transformed into a modified spectrogram and compared against the anomalous spectrogram to obtain a distance score. The distance score for each device is used to rank the devices with respect to being the cause of the failure.

Application No., Date, Speed: 16890565 on 06/02/2020 (959 days app to issue)

Abstract: A security system that provides for secure communication from a remote system operating on an unsecure network without the need for encrypting the packets related to the communication. The packets for the communications are sent over the network in clear text, which are readable by any systems on the network, however, only the systems that are authorized are able to determine what packets are the correct packets and what packets are the imitation packets. Moreover, a remote secure network may be utilized such that any system operating on an unsecure network may send packets through the remote secure network in a randomized routing in order to aid in hiding the systems sending and receiving the packets and the relays through which the packets are being sent.
