Dallas designer Jan Showers has been included in Architectural Digest’s 2018 AD100 list of the world’s top architects and interior designers.
Showers, who heads Jan Showers & Associates Inc., has had a three-decade career that includes writing two books and numerous awards.
“We are so thrilled to be a part of AD100 with so many exceptional designers, architects, and landscape architects. Many thanks to Amy Astley, editor-in-chief, and her wonderful team, at Architectural Digest,” Showers told Dallas Innovates via email.
“Whether rule-breakers or defenders of tradition, the men and women of the 2018 AD100 all have one thing in common: uncommon vision.” Architectural Digest
Architectural Digest said those on the list are unique, but share one thing: “Whether rule-breakers or defenders of tradition, the men and women of the 2018 AD100 all have one thing in common: uncommon vision.”
Architectural Digest said that Showers’ credo is, “Interior design is an art form that, if done properly, helps people live comfortably surrounded by beauty.”
According to her website, Showers derived her signature style from diverse and unexpected inspirations — movies and novels, contemporary and vintage fashion, art, architecture, fine antiques, and vintage pieces.
Among her projects, Architectural Digest listed a furniture collection for Kravet, a line of cowhide rugs for Kyle Bunting, and modern Oushak-style carpets for Moattar.
