Dallas-based UpSmith has launched JennyAI, a generative AI and performance marketing product designed to redefine how tradespeople like plumbers and HVAC technicians create and convert opportunities in the $500 billion U.S. home services market.
“We believe every skilled trades company can be a data company and the acceleration of foundational AI models in the last 12 months offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to level up the businesses that keep America running,” UpSmith Founder and CEO Wyatt Smith said in a statement. “JennyAI advances our mission to address skilled workforce challenges by giving trades businesses technical advantages to help them win and their teams thrive.”

UpSmith said that JennyAI is designed for businesses looking to drive immediate revenue growth. It leverages advanced AI to streamline prospect outreach, optimize engagement, and deliver near-term revenue lift.
The company said that JennyAI seamlessly integrates with ServiceTitan, a leading field service management platform, to identify high-quality replacement opportunities within a company’s existing customer base.
The AI-powered assistant then personalizes outreach messages and books appointments directly with customers, “maximizing efficiency while ensuring every interaction delivers value.”
“We have thousands upon thousands of contacts in our database, but we’ve never had the capacity to fully engage them,” Chris Harrison, GM of Roland Black Heating & Cooling in Charlotte, North Carolina, said. “We spun up JennyAI in a matter of hours to leverage that data for the first time, automating personalized outbound messages to customers and truly generating opportunities out of thin air.”
Powerful lead generation
UpSmith said that unlike traditional lead generation tools, JennyAI doesn’t simply automate processes—it adapts to the real-world complexities of skilled trades businesses, creating a seamless, intuitive experience that works for owners, teams, and customers alike.
The company said that JennyAI is built on the latest advancements in large language models, and it autonomously engages with customers, gathers relevant insights, and books appointments—all within a matter of minutes.
According to UpSmith, JennyAI helps businesses capture, qualify, and nurture prospects more effectively than ever before.
JennyAI is being deployed by a select group of UpSmith’s customers, with plans for a wider rollout in the coming weeks, UpSmith said.
Recent funding and innovation
Last year, UpSmith announced it had raised $5 million in seed funding to help power up Boost, a new productivity app that helps skilled trades companies “win by gamifying technician performance.”
According to the financial blog FinSMEs, the fundraising round was led by Hannah Grey Ventures. Participants included a16z, GSV, Asymmetric Capital Partners, Cubit Capital, TechNexus, Crow Holdings, Kimbel Mechanical, Crescent Ridge, and Karman Ventures, along with other individuals.
In 2022, UpSmith announced it had closed on a $3.3 million pre-seed funding round earlier that year led by Silicon Valley venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz and Boston’s Asymmetric Capital Partners.
UpSmith is an a16z-backed technology company.
