Dallas-based Cars for Kids has donated $850,000 to Texans Can Academies as part of its ongoing efforts to support educational initiatives and community programs that make a difference in children’s lives.
“Our mission at Cars for Kids is to make a lasting impact on the lives of children by supporting their educational journeys and overall well-being,” Rudy Oeftering, board chair of Cars for Kids, said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to partner with Texans Can Academies to provide critical services that will help students overcome challenges and reach their full potential.”.
Known for helping at-risk students earn their high school diplomas, Texans Can Academies said it will use this donation to enhance their student services, including counseling, tutoring, and career readiness programs.
“At Texans Can Academies, our primary goal is to help students graduate high school and prepare for a successful future,” James Ponce, superintendent of schools at Texans Can Academies, said in a statement. “This generous donation from Cars for Kids will significantly enhance our ability to provide the necessary support and resources for our students. We are deeply grateful for this partnership and the positive impact it will have on our community.”
The nonprofit Cars for Kids supports children’s education and provides essential resources. Through vehicle donations, Cars for Kids funds educational programs, support services, and other initiatives that help children succeed, the organization said.
Texans Can Academies is a network of public charter schools dedicated to helping at-risk students earn their high school diplomas. It focuses on providing personalized support and educational opportunities to empower students to overcome challenges and achieve success.
