Dallas Ad Agency TRG Announces Longtime Principal as Its New CEO

Pete Lempert joined leading Dallas ad agency TRG—formerly known as The Richards Group—in 1994. He's led business for brands including Corona Beer, Nokia, Advance Auto Parts, Amstel Beer, Learjet, Mohawk Flooring, Charles Schwab, Orkin, and Sewell Automotive.

Longtime principal Pete Lempert will succeed Glenn Dady as CEO of Dallas-based advertising agency TRG, effective March 31, the agency announced.

Lempert joined TRG, formerly known as The Richards Group, in 1994. He has led business for brands such as Corona Beer, Nokia, Advance Auto Parts, Amstel Beer, Learjet, Mohawk Flooring, Charles Schwab, Orkin, Sewell Automotive Cos., and others. He was promoted to principal in 1996 and became chief development officer and managing principal in 2024.

Dady, who was named CEO in 2019 after 39 years at the agency, will retire this spring.

“Pete has been with the agency for more than 30 years and brings a unique skillset to this new role,” Dady said in a statement. “He has the perfect combination of creativity and business acumen. He is a proven leader who has consistently delivered results for our clients while improving the employee experience and culture within the agency.”

Lempert said the firm is well-positioned for success.

“It’s an honor to lead this incredible independent agency into our next chapter,” Lempert said in a statement. “We have always been known as a creative powerhouse, where we make brands memorable, and that will never change. But TRG and the marketplace have shifted dramatically over the past five years too. We are well positioned for the future, where bold ideas will be nurtured to succeed in a rapidly changing marketplace.”

Lempert started his career at Bozell & Jacobs in Dallas, working with such clients as Dial, American Airlines, NationsBank, Armour Foods, and Southwestern Bell Mobile Systems.

“I’m extremely proud of this agency for everything we have accomplished, proud of our clients and partners, and proud of the work,” Dady said. “I can’t wait to watch the continued success.”

TRG was founded in 1976 and has a nearly 50-year winning streak of building iconic brands such as Ram, Chick-fil-A, Motel 6, Orkin, Charles Schwab, and The Home Depot.
