Common Desk, a coworking space company that launched in Deep Ellum and now has nearly two dozen locations in North Texas, Austin, Houston, and North Carolina—has its eyes on The Hill.
The Hill Shopping Center, that is—a trendy retail development on Walnut Hill Lane near U.S. 75.
According to a report by Steve Brown in the Dallas Morning News, Common Desk is planning a 23,000-square-foot-plus shared office location at The Hill, slated to open late this summer. The report cited planning documents filed with the state, and added that Dallas-based IdGroup is designing the project.
The company is also planning an even larger, 44,000-square-foot location in Irving’s Las Colinas development, slated to open in mid-year. Renovation costs for that project are estimated at $4.7 million, according to The Real Deal.
Common Desk was acquired in January 2022 by WeWork for an undisclosed amount, and has since operated as “Common Desk, a WeWork Company.”
The company was founded in 2012 in Dallas by CEO Nick Clark. It has since grown its network to serve 4,000 customers across 13 cities in Texas and North Carolina.
