North Texas’ JBB Advanced Technologies to Acquire Houston Solar Energy Developer Proteus Power

The move follows JBB's $12 billion sale of Tronic in March. Proteus is an international developer of utility-scale renewable energy. Its headquarters in Houston will move to JBB Advanced Technologies' headquarters in Carrollton, with all current employees being retained, and a branch office is planned for Lubbock, JBB said.

Toyota, whose North American HQ is in Plano, took its eyes off the road long enough to scan the skies and invest $500 million more in California-based Joby, for a total of $894 million it's invested to date. The investment is aimed at "realizing the two companies’ shared vision of air mobility," Toyota said.

Dallas’ Title Resources Group Acquires Doma, Snags Investment from Lennar

Doma's underwriting division, Doma Title Insurance Inc., is now a wholly owned subsidiary of TRG. Doma's technology division, renamed Doma Technology LLC, will operate on a separately capitalized basis, the company said. TRG and Doma TechCo will operate as sister companies.

India’s OYO to Acquire North Texas Parent of Motel 6 for $525M

OYO—whose U.S. headquarters is in Dallas—is acquiring Carrollton-based G6 Hospitality to snag its Motel 6 and Studio 6 franchise network of around 1,500 hotels across the U.S. and Canada. OYO's global portfolio includes more than 44,000 hotels with over 1.2 million rooms.
