Colossal Raises Another $120M, Announces Pigeon Cell Breakthrough to Help ‘De‑Extinct’ the Dodo

Dallas-based Colossal Biosciences announced an add-on Series C raise that values it at $10.32 billion. Meanwhile, eggs are being laid in Texas to help advance the "de-extinction" of the famously extinct dodo bird—with a little help from the Nicobar pigeon, the dodo's closest living relative.

News of its funding round follows Congress' July passage of the GENIUS Act, which creates licensing and regulatory requirements for domestic payment stablecoin issuers and standards for participation in the U.S.

The move caps a 12-month run that saw Trive close its fifth fund at $2.7 billion, double its Uptown headquarters, and expand its defense and space portfolio.

Cousins Properties acquired the Class AA Uptown Dallas tower in a deal brokered by Newmark. The transaction for The Link at Uptown is a new high sales price in Dallas-Fort Worth this year, Newmark said. Last week, JLL announced it has been engaged to handle leasing for the property that "sits between Uptown’s core and emerging financial districts.”
