CAGE Bio Relocates Fort Worth Office to BioLabs at Pegasus Park in Dallas

The California-based clinical-stage biotech startup is developing therapies to treat serious immunological diseases like atopic dermatitis and vitiligo.

CAGE Bio—a San Carlos, California-based clinical-stage biotech startup developing therapies for immune-mediated dermatological conditions—has relocated its Fort Worth office to BioLabs at Pegasus Park in Dallas.

The company has taken a private lab suite in BioLabs’ 37,000 square foot facility.

Founded in 2016, CAGE Bio’s platform technology was invented by bioengineer Samir Mitragotri. The company is advancing its proprietary deep eutectic ionic liquid platform to develop novel therapies in dermatology, inflammation, and immunology.

“BioLabs at Pegasus Park offers an optimal setting for our mission to redefine the safety and efficacy standards in pharmaceuticals,” CAGE Bio CEO Dr. Nitin Joshi said in a statement.

“Our focus is on developing innovative medicines that combine the effectiveness of systemic drugs with the safety of localized administration, including topicals, to treat serious immunological diseases like atopic dermatitis and vitiligo,” Joshi added.

In 2021, CAGE Bio closed on an oversubscribed $7.2 million Series A financing round.

Dallas Innovates first wrote about CAGE Bio in 2020, when the company established a North Texas home on the campus of the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth. At the time, the company said it intended to use HSC resources “to further its mission to make “highly effective topical products for localized treatment while minimizing the side effects from systemic exposure.”

BioLabs Pegasus Park opened in 2022. It offers co-working and early-stage Class A laboratory and office space for start-up life science companies to perform research, collaborate with fellow scientists, incubate ideas, access investment capital and commercialize or license resulting intellectual property.
