Brinker International Appoints Former McDonald’s Global CIO to Its Board

Frank Liberio most recently served as EVP and global chief information officer for Restaurant Brands International.

Dallas-based Brinker International (NYSE: EAT), the casual dining restaurant company behind Chili’s Grill & Bar and Maggiano’s Little Italy, has appointed Frank Liberio to its board of directors, the company announced Monday.

Liberio brings extensive technology leadership experience in the restaurant industry to Brinker’s board. According to the company, he most recently served as executive vice president and global chief information officer for Restaurant Brands International.

Prior to his role at RBI, Liberio spent more than 16 years at McDonald’s Corporation, where he held various leadership positions. His tenure at McDonald’s culminated in the role of senior vice president and global chief information officer, where he led the development and deployment of the company’s digital transformation, Brinker said.

“We couldn’t be more pleased to welcome Frank to the Brinker board of directors and know his wisdom and leadership maturity will bring valuable insights as we support Brinker’s growth strategies with a focus on the guest experience,” Joe DePinto, Brinker’s board chairman, said in a statement.

He added that Liberio is “both deeply knowledgeable and relatable,” and that his “years of wisdom gained from his exemplary career will be a true asset to the board.”

Founded in 1975, Brinker International owns, operates, or franchises nearly 1,600 restaurants across the United States and 27 other countries and two U.S. territories. In addition to its well-known Chili’s and Maggiano’s brands, Brinker also operates the It’s Just Wings virtual brand.
