Adolfson & Peterson Adds Director of Mission Critical Services in Dallas Office

Darian Reams' design and construction management experience spans more than 20 years, and he is responsible for overseeing the company's national portfolio of mission-critical projects, including data centers and other essential facilities.

Darian Reams has joined the Dallas office of Adolfson & Peterson Construction, a national, family-owned construction management and contracting company, as its new director of mission-critical services.

“Darian is a brilliant leader whose proficiency in mission-critical construction is second to none,” Will Pender, president, AP Gulf States, said in a statement. “The industry continues to see an unprecedented demand for data centers and other related essential facilities, so having Darian’s deep understanding of market nuances, drivers and demands makes him an invaluable asset as we expand our reach in this field across the country.”

Reams’ design and construction management experience spans more than 20 years, and he is responsible for overseeing the Minnesota-headquartered company’s national portfolio of mission-critical projects, including data centers and other essential facilities.

In his new role, Reams coordinates and manages preconstruction, construction, and close-out activities for all mission-critical projects, the firm said.

Reams heads up AP’s national mission-critical business development efforts with the aim of supporting all regions as they grow in the data center market. He also will recruit and help manage data center operations team members needed to support AP’s mission-critical efforts companywide.

Adolfson & Peterson said Reams’ career-long focus on strengthening relationships has led to a large network of industry connections, which he leverages to drive new business development opportunities for the company.

The company said that Reams’ leadership will be pivotal to building its portfolio of mission-critical construction in key areas such as Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, Arizona, and Colorado, as well as across the nation.

“Joining one of the nation’s top-ranked construction management firms is the opportunity of a lifetime,” Reams said in a statement. “Mission-critical buildings are my passion, and it is exhilarating to work for a company that embraces the latest tools and technologies, including virtual construction, to provide enhanced services and meet complex project demands.”

Adolfson & Peterson said that data center projects are a rapidly growing niche area of the construction industry that is expected to reach $14.17 billion by 2026.

“As demand for information is higher than ever with no sign of decreasing, companies will need dedicated space to store mission-critical data. Well-built, reliable data centers will be needed in additional areas of the country, and we are building a mission-critical division in AP to be flexible enough with deep relationships to meet these needs,” Reams said.

AP Gulf States’ current projects include adaptive reuse work at downtown Dallas’ Santander Tower, along with notable recently completed projects including the new PGA of America headquarters in Frisco and Vari’s headquarters with VariSpace in Coppell.
