More than a century old and originally designed as the tallest building west of the Mississippi, The Stoneleigh in Dallas has reopened and is finding new life as part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection of distinctive hotels around the world.
Central to the hotel’s renaissance are “fully reimagined” interiors by London design studio Fettle, featuring expansive guest rooms and specialty suites, and an “ambitious” culinary and cocktail program led by James Beard Award–winning Chef Michael White.

“The Stoneleigh has always represented more than a destination; it has served as a preeminent stage for the culture, conversation, and community of Dallas,” said Shai Zelering, managing partner and global head of hospitality at Brookfield’s Real Estate Group.
“This renaissance honors the hotel’s storied legacy while reimagining it for the culturally curious,” he added in a statement. “Through bold design, celebrated culinary artistry, and social enclaves meticulously crafted for connection, we are reintroducing an icon that honors its past while defining the future of Uptown luxury.”
‘The very essence of luxury’

The renovated spaces at The Stoneleigh pay tribute to design icon Dorothy Draper, who conducted the hotel’s first renovation in the 1930s. Draper is known for her use of vibrant color, dramatic pattern, and unapologetic grandeur. “Her visionary aesthetic redefined the very essence of luxury,” Marriott Bonvoy said.
The hotel features 104 guestrooms and 72 suites ranging from 300 to 1,000 square feet, including signature retreats like the Draper Suite and the sprawling Penthouse, once favored by Elvis Presley and Audrey Hepburn.

Additional Stoneleigh amenities include a state-of-the-art fitness center outfitted with advanced performance and strength-training equipment, supporting guests’ wellness routines. A tranquil ground-level pool offers daybeds, loungers, and an Americana-inspired poolside menu.
The hotel also includes more than 20,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event meeting space for hosting weddings, galas, and corporate events.
Crafted menus and venues

Renowned for his legacy of five simultaneous Michelin stars, Chef Michael White creates menus for the hotel’s Lion’s Den restaurant inspired by Italian supper clubs and Bar Lionessa.
The restaurant features Draper-inspired touches, with marbled stone, inlaid wood, and her iconic patterned wallpaper. House-made pastas are the soul of the menu, and signature dishes include a Porterhouse, Dover sole, and a Marsala-finished veal chop, along with a tailored wine program.
In the evening, Bar Lionessa will offer music on occasion, curated entertainment, and cocktails from a custom beverage cart. The menu includes small plates, along with shareable desserts.
By morning, the lounge becomes a café to welcome guests and locals alike for expertly drawn espresso, delicate European-style pastries, and light seasonal bites to enjoy in the plush lounge or on the adjoining terrace.

With its debut, The Stoneleigh proudly reclaims its title as “The Grand Dame of Uptown,” Marriott Bonvoy said.
The Stoneleigh’s transition to Marriott Bonvoy’s Autograph Collection brings the hotel into a global portfolio of more than 330 unique properties selected for their individuality, craftsmanship, and sense of place. Other North Texas hotels that are part of the Autograph Collection include HALL Arts Hotel and The Adolphus, both in Dallas; the Hall Park Hotel in Frisco, Hotel Drover and The Sinclair, both in Fort Worth; and Hotel Vin in Grapevine.
