Assignee(s): Verily Life Sciences LLC (Dallas, TX)
Law Firm: Perkins Coie LLP (17 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 18619806 on 03/28/2024 (649 days app to issue)
Abstract: Introduced here are retinal cameras having one or more optical components whose position can be modified so that the left and right eyes can be imaged during a single imaging operation. Collectively, the optical component(s) may be referred to as an ”optical assembly.” An optical assembly can include the objective lens, lens tube, and other optical components such as mirror(s), light source(s), capturing medium(s), etc. An optical assembly of a retinal camera may be movable between a first position and a second position along an arcuate path. By moving the optical assembly between the first and second positions along the arcuate path, the retinal camera can align the lens tube with the left and right eyes of an individual while clearing her nose. Thus, the retinal camera may generate images of the left and right eyes during an imaging procedure without requiring that the individual move her head.

Method of operation for processing of blood to neutralize pathogen cells therein
Patent No. 12514969
Inventor(s): Dale B. Nixon (Dallas, TX)
Assignee(s): UNASSIGNED
Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 17814537 on 07/25/2022 (1261 days app to issue)
Abstract: An operational unit for locating and neutralizing pathogen cells in blood includes a cassette which has a plurality of thin holding chambers that are filled with blood drawn from a patient. A light source illuminates the holding chambers and passes light to an underlying sensor array such that the cells in the blood selectively block the light to produce shadow images of the cells. A processor performs pattern recognition to locate the pathogen cells by use of an image library. After the pathogen cells are located, a source of ultraviolet light is activated and UV light is passed through selectively controlled shutters to illuminate only the limited areas that have the identified pathogen cells. Sufficient ultraviolet light energy is applied to destroy the identified cells. A pump refills the cassette holding chambers, returns the neutralized-pathogen blood to the patient, and the process is repeated.

Abstract: Embodiments of a bicycle hanger system and method include a track to be coupled to a ceiling, the track including a sliding mechanism with a hook and an elongated pull coupled to the hook. The system also includes a second track to be coupled to the ceiling, positioned perpendicular to the first track, and including a second sliding mechanism with a second hook and a second elongated pull coupled to the second hook. Additionally, a third hook is coupled to the ceiling, designed to secure a forward wheel of a bicycle. The first hook and the second hook secure a rearward wheel and a bicycle frame using the elongated pull and the second elongated pull, allowing the hooks to be positioned according to the size of the bicycle. The system allows for adjustable positioning of the bicycle to avoid blocking space beneath, accommodating different bicycle sizes and configurations securely against the ceiling.

(a) A remaining clean air volume to be delivered to the controlled space is determined. (b) A remaining cleaning time is determined. (c) In response to determining that a ventilation unit is not present: a recirculated air flow rate is determined based on the remaining clean air volume and the remaining cleaning time, a blower flow rate is set to the determined recirculated air flow rate, the method waits for an idle time, and a delivered clean air volume already delivered to the controlled space is determined. Operations (a), (b), and (c) are repeated until the total clean air volume is delivered to the controlled space.

Power and security adjustment for face identification with reflectivity detection by a ranging sensor
Patent No. 12516922
Inventor(s): Arnaud Deleule (San Jose, CA), John E. Kvam (Palo Alto, CA), Kalyan-Kumar Vadlamudi-Reddy (San Jose, CA)
Assignee(s): STMICROELECTRONICS, INC. (Coppell, TX)
Law Firm: Seed IP Law Group LLP (1 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 17856586 on 07/01/2022 (1285 days app to issue)
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a system and method of controlling a facial recognition process by validating preconditions with a ranging sensor. The ranging sensor transmits a ranging signal that is reflected off of a user”s face and received back at the ranging sensor. The received ranging signal can be used to determine distance between the user”s face and the mobile device or to determine the reflectivity of the user”s face. Comparing the distance to a range of distances corresponding to normal operation of the device or normal reflectivities associated with human skin tones can reduce the number of false positive activations of the facial recognition process. Furthermore, a multiple zone ranging sensor can produce a face depth map that can be compared to a stored face depth map or can produce a reflectivity map that can be compared to a stored face reflectivity map to further increase power efficiency and device security.

Law Firm: Seed Intellectual Property Law Group LLP (1 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 17532792 on 11/22/2021 (1506 days app to issue)
Abstract: A device including microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) sensors is used in dead reckoning in conditions where Global Positioning System (GPS) signals or Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signals are lost. The device is capable of tracking the location of the device after the GPS/GNSS signals are lost by using MEMS sensors such as accelerometers and gyroscopes. By calculating a misalignment angle between a sensor frame of the device with either the movement direction of the vehicle or the walking direction of a pedestrian using the MEMS sensors, the device can accurately calculate the location of a user of the device even without the GPS/GNSS signals. Accordingly, a device capable of tracking the location of a pedestrian and a user riding in a vehicle without utilizing GPS/GNSS signals can be provided.

Patent No. 12517842
Inventor(s): David P. Foley (Sugar Land, TX), Venkatesh Natarajan (Bangalore, , IN)
Assignee(s): Texas Instruments Incorporated (Dallas, TX)
Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 18637758 on 04/17/2024 (629 days app to issue)
Abstract: Systems and methods provide for inherited access permissions, thereby facilitating read and write access by called contexts. Hardware logic may enforce access permissions in the system. When a processor core executes code associated with a first context, the processor core generates a first hardware signal identifying the first context. The processor core may then switch from the first context to the second context due to the first context calling the second context. The processor core may then generate a second hardware signal identifying the calling (first) context, and then the first hardware signal identifies the called (second) context. The hardware logic that enforces the access permissions may then determine that the second context is being called and that the second context includes either direct access permissions or inherited access permissions associated with the calling (first) context.

Abstract: The system includes a memory to store an electronic compilation document with multiple pages and operational instructions, as well as a processor to execute these instructions. It uses a first machine-learning classifier, trained on labeled pages, to identify document types within the electronic compilation document. After identifying document types, the system performs a preprocessing action on each page of the electronic compilation document, creating a preprocessed document. Additionally, the system uses a second machine-learning classifier, trained with labeled data specifying both document type and page position (first or last page), to classify each page according to its type and position, indicating whether it is the first or last page within that document type. Further, the system organizes pages by document type, grouping them sequentially from the first to the last page of each type.

Law Firm: Potomac Law Group, PLLC (3 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 18174872 on 02/27/2023 (1044 days app to issue)
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to verifying a communication identifier or electronic address using one or more blockchains. Implementations mint non-fungible tokens (NFTs) that correspond to the electronic addresses and/or communication identifiers. A person or company can communicate with third-party entities via the electronic addresses and/or communication identifiers. A given third-party entity can verify that a NFT that corresponds to the specific electronic address and/or communication identifier the given third-party is interfacing with has a corresponding minted NFT. The existence of such a minted NFT verifies that the specific electronic address and/or communication identifier has been registered with a trusted authority. The third-party entity can then safely interact with the electronic address and/or communication identifier once receiving the verification result.
