Berkshire Partners Affiliate Acquires Irving’s United Flow Technologies from H.I.G. Capital

Founded in 2021, the Irving-based water and wastewater solutions provider expanded through multiple acquisitions and new product lines.

Berkshire Partners has acquired United Flow Technologies (UFT), an Irving-based provider of water and wastewater solutions, from H.I.G. Capital.

H.I.G. will retain a minority stake in the company and continue to support its next phase of growth, the firms said. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded as a platform investment by H.I.G. in 2021, UFT provides process and equipment solutions for municipal and industrial water and wastewater customers. The company’s portfolio includes process equipment, pumps, flow control products, and automation and control systems.

UFT CEO Matt Hart said H.I.G.’s backing enabled the company to execute a growth strategy and strengthen its operations. “H.I.G. has been an outstanding partner to UFT since establishing the company in 2021,” Hart said in a statement.

During H.I.G.’s ownership, United Flow Technologies completed and integrated several acquisitions, expanding its geographic footprint, introducing new product lines, and growing its customer base, the company said.

Hart said the company is now positioned to continue that momentum under Berkshire’s ownership. He added that H.I.G.’s decision to remain a minority investor reflects confidence in UFT’s long-term growth.

Rahul Vinnakota, a managing director at H.I.G., said the firm worked closely with UFT’s leadership team to scale the business.

“Since we established UFT, we have been proud to support management to build a national leader in the water and wastewater sector,” Vinnakota said. He cited the leadership of Hart and the broader management team as key drivers of the company’s growth.

Harris Williams and Solomon Partners served as financial advisors to H.I.G. and United Flow Technologies on the transaction. King & Spalding LLP represented the firms as legal counsel.
