BMK Pharma has announced plans to open its U.S. headquarters in Allen. The 50,000-square-foot facility will serve as both a 503B compounding pharmacy and a sterile Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO), producing injectable drugs and sterile dosage forms, the company said.
BMK said its Allen facility is expected to open in the third quarter of 2026. The company said the facility is a testament to BMK Pharma’s commitment to advancing “Made in America” prescription medications and strengthening the U.S. pharmaceutical supply chain.
BMK was founded by Frisco-based serial pharmaceutical entrepreneur Jay Bhaumik, who is also chairman of Thesis Pharma Ventures and president of DFW-based Proem Holding, which has a diversified real estate investment portfolio in medical office condo, multifamily, industrial and land development. Bhaumik was previously the CEO and managing partner at Frisco-based New Star Med Spa and the founder and CEO of Onexte Consulting, a cybersecurity consulting firm.
“We’re proud to launch BMK Pharma’s headquarters in Allen,” Bhaumik said in a statement. “Our mission is to ensure a reliable and innovative supply of sterile medicines, developed and manufactured right here in the United States. Allen provides the perfect environment, with access to exceptional talent and a strong community that supports innovation.”
Creating more than 100 ‘highly skilled jobs’
BMK said the new headquarters will create more than 100 highly skilled jobs in Allen, ranging from automation engineers and chemists to pharmacists and scientific researchers. A 503B compounding pharmacy, also known as an outsourcing facility, is a type of compounding pharmacy that compounds drugs on a larger scale than a traditional pharmacy. These facilities are federally regulated.
BMK Pharma said it chose Allen because of its business-friendly climate, highly educated workforce, and strategic support from the Allen Economic Development Corp.
“BMK Pharma’s decision to establish its headquarters here reflects Allen’s position as a growing hub for innovation and advanced manufacturing,” Allen EDC President Dan Bowman said in a statement. “This investment strengthens our local economy while reinforcing Allen’s reputation as a prime location for forward-thinking companies.”
In addition to pharmaceutical manufacturing, BMK said the facility will provide specialized expertise in sterile product development, partnering with pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, and generic drug manufacturers. BMK Pharma said it seeks to become a trusted partner in advancing drug development and manufacturing solutions.
