If this reporter got off his couch and ran a 5K, he’d probably see black. But that’s not what runners will be seeing at Fair Park in Dallas this November—because The Color Run will be back with “one of the most colorful and community-driven running events ever.”
Produced by Thematic Runs, a division of Hong Kong-based Y11 Sport and Media, the untimed event is kicking off in Los Angeles this year before heading to Dallas and expanding to more cities across the U.S. and the world.
On Saturday, November 22, the event lands in Fair Park, where participants will run past America’s largest collection of Art Deco exposition buildings adorned with murals, sculptures, fountains, and Texas landmarks, including the Cotton Bowl.
Color zones, DJ stages, and more
The 5K run will deliver “a colorful, no-pressure experience” for all ages and fitness levels, celebrating health, wellness, and community with “a festival-like vibe that lasts well beyond the finish line,” organizers said.
New for this year, the event will feature:
- More color zones along the route
- Live DJ stages and themed music zones
- “Photo-worthy surprises” to celebrate each runner’s journey
- An expanded Finish Festival with massive color throws, food trucks, beer garden, wellness zone, family-friendly games, and more
“With new features, bigger celebrations, and plenty of surprises along the course, this series promises to inspire healthy living and deliver lasting memories,” James Leitz, Managing Director of Thematic Runs, said in a statement.
