Dogs and cats are good at two things: making us love them…and making a break for it.
When pets in Fort Worth get lost, now there’s a place ready to help. Fort Worth Animal Care & Control has launched its first-ever “Chip Spot” at Winslow’s Wine Cafe at 4101 Camp Bowie Blvd. The new community resource is designed to help quickly reunite lost pets with their families.
Now when people in Fort Worth rescue a lost dog or cat, instead of driving to a vet or animal shelter they can visit Winslow’s, where the staff has been equipped with a microchip scanner to help identify and reunite pets with their owners.

Per the city, the process works like this:
- Take the lost pet to Winslow’s Cafe (4101 Camp Bowie Blvd, Fort Worth, TX 76107).
- Scan the pet’s microchip.
- Match the microchip ID number with the registered owner using the provided QR code posted on the cafe’s window.
The microchip reader was donated by Operation Kindness for this initiative, helping make this pilot location possible, the city said.

FWACC said its partnership with Winslow’s Cafe is “one more way we’re working to keep pets safe and reduce the number of animals entering shelters unnecessarily.”
The city is looking to expand this program. Business owners or others who’d like to participate in hosting a Chip Spot can call to FWACC communications coordinator at 817-392-8914.
Dogs and cats across the Panther City will thank you.
