Dallas Hospitality Company Makeready Appoints New President of Operations

Eric Gavin will work alongside Christine Magrann, president of brand development and restaurants, in leading Makeready.

Dallas-based experience-driven hospitality company Makeready has appointed Eric Gavin as president of operations, joining Christine Magrann, president of brand development and restaurants, in leading the company.

Makeready said the move reinforces its commitment to being recognized as the best-in-class operator of notable hotels, restaurants, and retail experiences.

With over 20 years of experience in driving operational excellence and strategic growth, Gavin brings extensive knowledge and expertise to the Makeready team, the company said.

Makeready said that in his new role, Gavin will focus on managing performance throughout Makeready’s portfolio, overseeing all operational aspects of the company.

“I am excited to partner with Christine as we expand on Makeready’s mission to create an independent hospitality platform that creates opportunities for meaningful connection between our guests, team members, and local communities through the curation of immersive experiences,” Gavin said in a statement.

The company said that Gavin’s leadership journey is marked by a deep understanding of what drives success in the independent hospitality space, recognizing that these unique destinations thrive on memorable offerings and bespoke activations which are crafted to meet the needs of today’s discerning traveler — all while delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Gavin’s long track record with independent hotel brands includes Loews Hotels, Noble House Hotels & Resorts, and Salamander Hotels & Resorts. Most recently, Gavin was chief operating officer for Benchmark, Pyramid Global Hospitality’s Independent, Luxury & Lifestyle division, where he played a key role in shaping the company’s vision and overseeing day-to-day operations.

Makeready operates notable hotels, restaurants and retail shops throughout the country such as Noelle, Keep Shop, Hidden Bar and Makeready L&L in Nashville; The Alida and Rhett in Savannah; The Adolphus and Commerce Goods + Supply in Dallas; Emeline, Frannie & The Fox and Hank’s Seafood Restaurant in Charleston, South Carolina, and its elevated venue space for private events, Hank’s Social Hall.
