‘Smart Spaces’ Conference Returns to North Texas, Spotlights IoT Innovation in Multifamily and Hospitality

Parks Associates' "Smart Spaces" conference in Richardson will bring together property owners, building managers, and tech leaders to discuss innovations in the industry Sept. 24-25. Keynote speakers from Amazon Key, Luma Residential, and Stoneweg US promise insights from industry heavyweights.

Addison-based Parks Associates is bringing its second annual Smart Spaces conference to the Renaissance Dallas Richardson Hotel on September 24-25. The event aims to connect property owners, building managers, and tech leaders for a deep dive into the latest innovations in multi-dwelling units (MDUs) and hospitality environments.

The smart building market is booming, according to Parks Associates’ Mindi Sue Sternblitz-Rubenstein. “Our latest research shows pent-up demand for smart building solutions among MDU owners and operators,” said Sternblitz-Rubenstein, the firm’s VP of marketing, in a statement.

Over 85% plan to “deploy, upgrade, or adopt an IoT solution in the next 12 months, such as video surveillance, smart thermostats, or access controls,” she noted. At Smart Spaces, “leading executives will share strategies to leverage this demand to create successful partnerships and new revenues.”

Speakers from Amazon Key, the FCC, Greystar, ASSA ABLOY, and more

The event is bringing together something of a “who’s who” of the tech and real estate worlds. Speakers include reps from Amazon Key, the Federal Communications Commission, Greystar, SKBM Smart Technology, Allegion, and ASSA ABLOY.

Parks Associates will showcase its research and insights from tech leaders on delivering profitable and cost-effective solutions in today’s market. The event will feature sessions on bulk broadband, managed Wi-Fi, smart home, and IoT technologies, including access controls, energy management, and network support.

Keynote speakers include Kaushik Mani from Amazon Key, Ian Mattingly of Luma Residential, and Thomas Stanchak from Stoneweg US. Local tech leader Kyle Johnson, director of smart building technology at Greystar, is also on the speaker list.

Beyond presentations, Smart Spaces promises networking opportunities for building executives, service providers, and hardware, middleware, and software providers enabling next-gen solutions for consumers, MDUs, and public spaces.

The event has attracted sponsors like ADT Multifamily, Cox Communities, Nice, Vantiva, Xfinity Communities, Kwikset, Calix, Homebase, SkyBell, SmartRent, DojoNetworks, WireStar Networks, Zentra Access, and Salto.
