Plano-based homebuilder and land developer Green Brick Partners has announced the promotion of Jed Dolson to president and chief operating officer.
Dolson’s operational leadership has played an “integral role in Green Brick’s growth,” according to the company. Fortune Magazine has named Green Brick one of the fastest-growing public homebuilders and developers over the past four years, according to the company.
Co-Founder and CEO James Brickman praised Dolson’s approach as aligning with the company’s H.O.M.E. values of honesty, objectivity, maturity and efficiency. He also highlighted Dolson’s role in the growth of Green Brick’s seven subsidiary homebuilder brands, especially Trophy Signature Homes’ rise from a 2018 start-up to a leading DFW area builder.
“[Dolson] and I have worked side by side for almost 14 years,” Brickman said in a statement. “He understands our business top-down and bottom-up, earning his way to this position of leadership by working tirelessly day-after-day and year-after-year in all aspects of our business.”
Dolson first joined Green Brick in 2010 as a primary development consultant. He then served from 2013 to 2017 as Green Brick’s head of land acquisition and development. Prior to that, Dolson was president of the Texas region before becoming executive vice president and COO in September 2020.
Chairman David Einhorn said that Brickman and Dolson together “have served as a dynamic duo that have built Green Brick from a homebuilding company that sold less than a dozen homes in its first year in 2009 to a publicly traded homebuilding and land development company that generated revenue in excess of $1.7 billion last year with some of the best performance metrics of any homebuilder.”
Einhorn called Dolson a “knowledgeable, genuine, driven, and an invaluable member of the management team.” Einhorn said he looks forward to working with Dolson in his new role as part of Green Brick’s “next chapter.
Dolson said it is an “honor and privilege” to help grow Green Brick, which he sees having a major runway for continued expansion. “With the strong financial and operational platform we’ve built and, most importantly, the team we have assembled, I am confident we are heading to a bright future,” Dolson said.
In addition to others in the U.S., Green Brick owns five subsidiary homebuilders in Texas: CB JENI Homes, Normandy Homes, Southgate Homes, Trophy Signature Homes, and a 90% interest in Centre Living Homes.
