Dallas-based ReadiVet, a provider of mobile, in-home veterinary care, has appointed healthcare brand and communications expert Gabrielle Hannafan as its new chief marketing officer.
ReadiVet also announced that it has engaged seasoned startup adviser Justin Cordon to provide strategic oversight of operations and finance.
ReadiVet, an innovator in the veterinary care industry, aims to shake up the traditional clinic model by providing a majority of its services at the pet owner’s residence. According to CEO Landon Lawson, this approach allows for “a better clinical practice environment,” where veterinary professionals can focus entirely on each individual pet.
“As an industry disrupter, ReadiVet provides more than 80 percent of veterinarian care within a pet owner’s home,” the CEO said in a statement. The unique business model not only offers convenience to pet owners but also ensures their pets receive undivided attention from the care team, he says.
“By adding Justin and Gabrielle’s expertise, we are well positioned to elevate ReadiVet’s service delivery model,” Lawson said in a statement.
ReadiVet said the two new leaders complement its existing executive team to boost growth of its mobile veterinary services in Dallas, Atlanta, and Nashville, while looking at future markets for expansion.
Whether it’s brick-and-mortar veterinary clinic consolidation or telehealth, ReadiVet said that the pet care industry is rapidly changing to meet the continued demand for clinical care while also facing challenges between staffing shortages and burnout of veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
According to ReadiVet, examining data from both the APPA National Pet Owners Survey and the American Veterinary Medical Association, it is estimated that more than 52 million households seek routine pet care including annual vaccinations and check-ups, with veterinarians in traditional practices seeing an average of four pets per hour.
‘Gamechanger in veterinary services’
ReadiVet said that Hannafan has spent nearly two decades specializing in marketing and communications within the healthcare industry, most recently leading brand development and public relations for Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI), a globally recognized oncology research organization.
Hannafan has extensive experience in growing brand visibility for companies in competitive sectors, from investor relations to consumer engagement.
“Whether it is human healthcare or pet healthcare, we know that individualized care leads to better outcomes. A gamechanger in the veterinary services space, ReadiVet is making it more convenient to access pet care without sacrificing quality,” Hannafan said in a statement. “Our job is to make sure more people know we’re here and can deliver a higher-level of service at an affordable price point.”
Cordon has deep expertise in growing and managing private equity-backed small businesses, as an entrepreneur founding startups, and as an investment professional for both middle market private equity firms and investment banks, ReadiVet said. Specializing in working with businesses in varying growth cycles, he analyzes business needs, creates a strategy for success, and builds expert teams to reach investor goals.
“ReadiVet is serving a niche need in veterinary medicine,” Cordon said in a statement. “By creating a better experience for pet owners while allowing vets and techs to practice at the top of their field, in a one-on-one environment, we have an unmatched business model that can be scaled to serve more communities.”
ReadiVet founded its first market in Dallas in 2019, and a year later it added a second service area in Collin County, to meet the growing demand. Last year, ReadiVet began offering services in Atlanta, Ga., with Nashville operations beginning early this year.
